It has been about 8 months how are the fingerprints?


Mine hands are so much better then they were in January.


I had a Crohns patient today who was recieving Remicade, her fingertips were so bad. I did tell her that it was from wheat, I just couldn't help myself .
She didn't ask for more information so I left it at that.
Man her hands were so bad..

I'm able to hold a magnifying glass to my fingers, put on my reading glasses, get to good lighting and actually be able to see that both of my thumbs are whorls and the rest of my fingers are loops.  

From malabsorption issues related to gluten intolerance for so long, a few months ago, when I first
tried to determine my genotype, I couldn't even read my fingerprints at all...even when I inked and printed them, nothing showed up but white lines...I absolutely couldn't determine any of my
fingerprints in January.

I've made lots of progress, just being able to see that I HAVE fingerprints, although rather faint... I still have many white lines.

But my gym has a fingerprint scanner at the door to enter, and last week it refused me entry because it couldnt read my fingerprint clearly.   I took that as a bad sign...

or it doesn t recognize your newly acquired ridges!

I want to ask about ulnar loops. Somewhere it said, probably the book, that 8 or more dispose you to Alzheimers.
I think I have 7 ulnar loops & Alzheimers is not in my family. Sure, we get forgetful, but my dad lived to 90 OK & my aunt is 95 & getting more forgetful, the more normal way. But she still manages most of her own business, however not as good as before(which was not so good, as she was usually late in doing things).
Now, does the # of them under 8 matter. If you have 2, are you less likely than if you have 6? - or is 8 the beginning point.
I'm not overly worried about that, but it is a dreadful disease, maybe worse than cancer.

I have two reversed loops (facing the thumbs) on both my right ring finger and right pinkie finger.  It looks really weird when I look at both pinkie prints at the same time because they face the same direction instead of being mirrored.  I guess that confirms my explorerness.  

I believe those are called Ulnar as opposed to radial.

Well, I did more research on dermatoglyphics.  The two reversed ulnar loops are radial loops.  And one of them is a "peacock's eye."  My radial loop is on the pinkie which is supposedly rare (most are on the index finger.)  Peacock's eyes  themselves are rare but do mostly occur on the ring finger.  My arches are tented as well.

This is really intriguing!  Please do share your prints.  Especially if they are unusual.  

Both my ring fingers are whorls, one middle is a whorl, & the rest ulnar loops..... pretty boring, eh? But I don't feel boring.........

The most interesting thing to my about my prints is the fact that I don't have a single symmetrical print.  I've got a nice mix of the three types, but not one matches the opposite hand.

Must confess I don't know which way my loops point...did not make a note of that.

Another typical explorer with an ulnar loop on one index finger and a delta on the other index....white lines going but certainly not gone yet  

My white lines are almost completely gone now on my right hand and significantly improved on my left.

I have seven loops and three whorls.

Left Hand
Ulnar Loops on thumb, middle finger, and pinkie
whorls on index and ring fingers

Right Hand
Whorl on index finger
Ulnar Loops on all others

All of the whorls are oval and no arches.

A peacock configuration is a mix of more than one type print and is considered complex!!

I have seven loops and no Alzheimers on either side of the family. My moms family was fairly young when they died. Grandmother had lupus. Grandfather had prostate cancer. Both of them were type O.

My dads parents lived beyond age 90. Grandmother was an A and grandfather an O.

I expect to live long and healthy into the golden years.

!  That doesn't surprise me.  It's a radial peacock's eye too!

I've been going around looking at all of my friend's fingerprints with a flashlight and all of them have typical matching prints.  I wonder if they're all secretors too!  Ha-ha

2 triradii (deltas) = whorl
The second exotic is a type of whorl pattern called the central pocket loop, and it can confuse the novice since the center of the pattern tends to look more like a loop then a whorl. However, even center pocket loops have two deltas and if you have one of these, just classify it as a whorl and you ll be just fine.
