I feel certain I'm a Gatherer from reading the book and I don't trust my own eyes in judging things like my Gonial Angle and leg/torso measurements.

I need to start a program and as a Non-Secretor, I have enough sensitivities already so I want to get the Genotype right.  Can anyone help me make a determination.  I might still use Frequent Flyer miles to visit the D'Adamo clinic to get the measurements done by someone with an unbiased eye.

Does anyone have some hints which might give me confidence in being a Gatherer?

I didn't trust myself either so I had my roommate help me figure mine out. She's pretty un-biased, we know each other well enough to not be insulted if we hear something we don't like. Do you have a friend who could help? Or maybe talk to you dr. to see if he'd help take the measurements?

Tom, do you have good D2 : D4 measures? You would still need leg/torso or upper/lower in most cases but the indications would be easier to figure.

My Finger measurements were done by Southwest Naturopathic students at the 2007 conference.  Here are the results:

Left   D2: 71 mm
Left   D4: 71 mm

Right  D2: 71 mm
Right  D4: 74 mm

Does that help?

I have some measurements leg trunk ratios, but these I don't have confidence in.  Here are the imperfect results:

Trunk to Leg Ratio: 1.131783

Upper to Lower Leg Ratio: 1.480769

My fingerprint and cranial measurements were done at the 2007 conference also.  I did the prop taster test and it was hard to tell so I think the student finally put slight taster.  I was definitely not a strong taster.  It was either slight or non.

According to the book, you could be an Explorer, unless I misunderstood what you wrote.
You said: Torso is longer; upper leg longer; fingers mixed; O+, nonnie; & man!  [p. 291 in The GT Diet book].
If those can be verified as accurate, the strength testing is not needed.  My strength testing has me more other types than what I am. But I have to go by the measurements, which are very close for me, also.

So if the torso and leg measurements are in doubt, which combination of Torso/Leg and Upper/Lower Leg would seem to indicate without strength testing that

1.  I'm a Gatherer
2.  I'm an Explorer

sorry I can't answer the above
but I want to say that those fingerlengths are "pointing" (get it?) to explorer. Does caffeine bother you (make you jittery....etc.)?

Caffeine has always been a non-factor for me.  I don't notice it at all.

Hi Tom,

I just want to say I am definitely a gatherer but my lower leg is longer than my upper, which from the book would be atypical.

I also based on your measurements would put you as an Explorer.

It is possible to resonate with another Genotype, I feel the description of the Nomad could suit me as well to some extent.

If you can get someone to double check for you, of course that could help clarify for you, but remember this is a marathon not a sprint, just carry on doing whatever works for you. Have you done the quiz to see whether BTD or GTD is likely to be best for you?

Teacher-warrior here, as my growth can have altered my leg length and proportion. Jaw is perfectly in between and some tiny red nevi could be warrior. Teacher cheeses are a probelm for my nose and i must still realize  if to skip all dairy shoul be best! Sigh I wait for SWAMI

1.  I'm a Gatherer
2.  I'm an Explorer

Longer torso = Gatherer (lower leg longer)
             = Explorer (upper longer)
Shorter torso= Gatherer (upper longer)
             = Hunter   (lower longer)

The ratios given strongly suggest Explorer. Recheck the torso to leg measure to eliminate the Gatherer possibility.

Tom,
Just a thought.
Recheck your finger measurements just in case. I had mine measured at the conference, too and they mixed up the measurements with the fingers. It took me a while to figure it out , as I assumed they were correct. Anyone can make a mistake and they were not that experienced back then.
