Warriors, please post your tips and suggestions here.  

I just bought Power PB from Vitamin Shoppe..not bad...tasty.
It has roasted peanuts, wheat germ, honey,egg whites,  flax seed..and salt. Honey is a black dot..so it's ok. Everything else is beneficial ..

I also picked up Endangered Species chocolate..OMG! I found the chocolate mint one!! It has a monkey and ape on it..(Of course! I'm a monkey, I should have noticed) Endangered Species doesn't have white refine sugar or cane suger or cane juice. It has filtered beet sugar! It's very low glycemic..A whole 1/2 of a big bar has only 13 grams of carb..

I'll in another direction....less sweet flavors and more savory.  Doing this helps me forget
that I can easily be a sugar junkie..

I take a can of wild salmon and a can of tuna (that have both been certified safe of toxicity) and
pulse around in my food processor.

THen I start adding "stuff"...a heaping tsp of miso, a big tsp of grainy mustard, the juice of
one lime, a tsp, of umeboshi paste (From a Japanese pickled plum and it's very alkalizing).
Seasonings like cilantro, parsley, dill, chives. A few splashes of olive oil, a little plain yogurt
and chopped green olives. (I adore green olives but only the ones grown in the Mediterranean).

And then I add  some dried cranberries and pine nuts and mix them it all together.

This incorporates a lot of diamond and superfoods.

I eat a lot of raw string beans and raw peas.  I'd rather eat salads and raw veggies than cooked. I've never liked cooked vegetables.

I eat artichoke hearts from the jar with everything....either packed in water or olive oil.

I take a big chunk of tempeh and slice it thinly, marinate it in Bragg's liquid aminos...and put it in a pan in the oven to bake...drizzled with agave and sprinkled with some seasonings. Soy sauce would work but it's got gluten so I use Bragg's Liquid aminos on everything.

Any canned bean makes a decent dip...pureed with some lemon or lime juice, olive oil and garlic...

I drink green tea all day long...My favorite flavor is from TEAVANA called Jasmine pearls...
Smells heavenly.  I also add a packet of the edible green tea from Sei Mee tea..just to pump
up the health benefits.

As for chocolate, I'm totally hooked on Trader Joe's dark chocolate with almonds...their own
brand....but half the time it gives me a headache.  Something about chocolate isn't always
tolerable.  I try to only eat tiny pieces at a time...and not before bed or it resembles caffeine.

I buy big bags of fruit at the farmer's market so it's local produce...and for example if it's
something in season like peaches and apricots and I know it won't be around when I want
it in winter time, I pressure cook it lightly adding a little bit of apple juice..and then freeze
in cannisters...I'm going to be very happy to eat my peaches and apricots when it's snowing
here!

Mayflours, I've read that most sugar on the shelves is made from sugar beets, not from sugar cane.  So does it make any difference really?

Right no the rest of my diet is pretty plain... I eat a lot of eggs, some scrambled in ghee, some boiled...
Tuna salad is a staple for lunch with a sandwich bag full of celery sticks...
Dinner can be one of several meals - Tilapia, covered with curry powder, steamed on a bed of green beans; Refried beans, with curry and garlic powder, topped with Mountain High brand plain yogurt; or one of several fish (Ahi Tuna, Mahi-Mahi, Cod)or burgers (Salmon or turkey) grilled...

Right now I am eating no bread or grain and very little sugars.  I am eating some walnuts, a plum or a grapefruit for snacks...

I just found Daisy brand cottage cheese that has no weird additives... I love cottage cheese, but been too lazy (or tired) to make it...

The way I eat it most of the time is to serve some plain as a side dish... I have put some garlic powder on and mixed it in - amount is to taste...  Since I like the flavor, I usually don't add anything.

Food at my house has gotten really basic.  It is much easier to pinpoint problems or beneficials that way...  If it gets too complicated and there is some reaction, I need to know if it is the food or some detox issue.

But do you have a recipe?  I made some but the curds were tiny, like Ricotta.  It gave me a tummy ache when I ate it.

What I'm eating is a store bought brand...

My mom gave me one, but I haven't used it yet...  I like to try them before I pass them on...  I can post it unntested tonight (if I can find it again...) if you like.  I seem to recall that she said it would make a ricotta-like texture.

I believe there is also a method in my Natural Foods Cookbook.

Mrs. Croak, what products do you see that have beet sugar in them? Every label I read says, high fructose corn syrup, organic sugar, or evaporated cane juice, or liquid cane juice or white refined sugar. I'm going by what I read on the ingredients..

Joe, does the Daisy brand still use vinegar? I'm using Friendship brand..Well at least there's not guar gum or carrageenan.

I really like kefir and since I don't use the polyflora for A's it is important for me to get my good GI bacteria.

I eat yogurt or kefir everyday. I like it with flax, maple syrup, walnuts and some fruit.

I make my own chocolate treat, 100% chocolate bar, agave, peanut butter and peanuts. Melt the chocolate add the other stuff, spread it ona cookie sheet freeze it break it up and put it in a container in the freezer. yummy.. I have come to like it a bit bitter.

I eat tofu for breakfast as a tofu scramble, grated veggies and soft tofu, I add miso just before eating. I stopped eating eggs because I get too much mucous (the chicken feed must be corn). so this is an easy alternative. My teacher daughter really likes it too, so we share it.

When I make cottage cheese I just boil up some good milk (ie organic or biodynamic), and at boiling I add the juice of one lemon. I don't bother to measure amounts anymore.
When cool, I strain it using a cloth inside a large strainer, and it comes out not as curds, but as a solid mass rather like cream cheese.I guess it is virtually the same as paneer. Perhaps if I went to more trouble to test the temperature and add the lemon before boiling, it might curd up. By the way I have had absolutely no success in making ricotta probably also because I haven't got a thermometre.
I think I should make some more cottage cheese as I have used a tub of soya-imitation cream cheese lately which has affected my digestion probably due to the guar and carrageen.

it really is very simple to do.
guess it is pretty much the easiest form.....

The recipes I've seen for cottage cheese are not easy. You have to curdle it and then break it up, then cook it again to firm up the chunks, but you have to do it at the perfect temp or it gets like rubber. Then they mix it with cream and salt. Viola! Cottage cheese.

I make paneer when I have the time. The store bought paneer is so
tough when you cook it..

Do any of you Warriors, not eat any fish at all?

I make salmon patties..  Canned Red salmon, peas, rice flour, onion and an egg.

I think all fish has been frozen prior to hitting the market.

When I buy my fish, some of it says, previously frozen and some doesn't, so you gotta wonder... I actually found wild alaskan fresh salmon at A&P..! I was shocked! I bought a whole 2 lb piece and froze it.  They usually have only farmed salmon.

I tried making salmon croquettes with almond flour and they fell apart. They held together with soy flour. Since I've been tolerating whole wheat, I can use ww flour. Also oat flour worked for those who can tolerate it.

Oh, yeah, I can eat eggs. (I think I eat too many a week) I did have an egg in there with the almond flour. They still fell apart..unless I didn't have the flour finely ground enough?

Almond flour needs to be ground like a fine powder so it behaves as flour, in order for it to having good binding abilities.

Otherwise, in the recipe, it behaves more like a ground nut, which contains oil and can't possibly hold onto the eggs very well.

Ok, so how do I do that? It gets like peanut butter before a fine powder in my vitamix..Do you roast the almonds first? I noticed the Bob's Red Mill and how dry it looks..Maybe a dehydrator?

I had just read somewhere that the regular white sugar you see on shelves is often from beets, not from sugar cane.  It sounded strange to me because I can buy beet sugar (which looks just like white sugar) at the HFS--NOW brand, I think.  The article might not have been right about that.  I don't remember now where I read it.

I have the same problem.  When I grind nuts or flax into powder, part of it turns to "butter" before the rest of it even starts turning to powder.  What are we doing wrong?

I either buy it in a bag or I grind it with a hand mill grinder.It's this small thing that attaches
to a counter...plastic...Made by Zyliss I think..I've had it for years..This way it comes out light and powdery. I can do this with any nut if I want to make flour..... The Vitamix turns nuts into almond
butter. Food process or blender does the same thing.

About grinding almonds... has anyone used the dry container for the Vitamix? or do you just have the regular one?

I grind flax in a small coffee grinder, usually in several batches, and it stays very powdery/
