I never liked peppers..only black pepper as a flavoring..I only ate oranges because my mother didn't have a lot of junk in the house but I would get those sores on the corner of the mouth from them. The only thing orange I liked was the juice. It's very easy for me not to eat them, or bell peppers..chilies were ok, but I like my Indian food mild.

Yes I need this thread also. I'm still not on the diet good but better. I'm 55 and still act like a baby sometimes and want to eat what I want. My biggest draw with this diet is my asthma. I really think and have read where it does help asthma. So here I go again, and try, try again...Aani

Listen, this is what I think: I think we can't go around measuring our goodness by what we don't do, by what we deny ourselves, what we resist, and who we exclude. I think we've got to measure goodness by what we embrace, what we create, and who we include. Pere Henri (Chocolat)

I think you will see a great improvement if you will eat compliantly for 6 months...  I know that I was snoring loudly and having recurring pneumonia when I started the diet.  I seldom snore now and haven't had pneumonia at all - and the lungs don't hurt when I breathe deeply...

All of this is due to reduction of inflammation and healing of the respiratory system.  I am doing much more as well, but this is pertinent to your asthma post.

Much success to you!

Thanks, everyone. I'll get some of the supplimentals at some point. I see some patterns like ABJoe. Painful breathing, not being able to walk from room to room. Boy do I snore! I'm really gonna work on this harder...Aani

Ruthie...when people lambast Dr.D... I just ignore it...I've made my decision to follow him because his guidlines work for me (and my husband as well)...that's all the proof that I need to believe in him and to stay with it.

Yes! And the GTD diets though healthy, require some self discipline to follow especially if you're used to the SAD. Some people don't want to give up the "American" way of eating. I believe a lot of people use that lambasting as a copout so they don't have to give up their way of eating that they're used to.

Though my cholesterol is normal, I did lose 10 pounds and it should be lower..the cheating must end...(mostly with cheese)

Yes Mayf...stay strong & resist the temptation...just say "no" don't let the cheese win over your resolve to be compliant.

I've been eating very little flour and I believe it has helped some. I still have to use my daily inhaler ( a cortico steriod ). However I'm trying to wean myself off of it. My clothes have also gotten some looser...Aani

I can't believe it my feet after years of being rough and calloused are  so much softer, not perfect yet, but way better.
My bad cuticles are  healing too!
Gotta love this stuff,
