According to the BTD type O can have Soy, based on lectins etc,
however Gatherers should not have soy, and if I understand it correctly it is because it increases body fat.....

So how bad is it for Gatherers to consume products with Soy lectins in it?

While I am all for buying pure chocolate and puting together my own recipe.  Tons of store bought Chocolate come through our house hold on a regular basis and they all contain Soy lectins.

  (I am borderline underweight)

Yes, chocolate often contains soy lecithin. Which is okay!

Confusing since soy also has lectins!

Quoted from Andrea AWsec

I just looked it up.  Bad lectins agglutinate our blood and Lecithins are used in food and cosmetics to keep foods, and/or oil & water from seperating.

right, lecithin is an emulsifier by excellence!

soy is estrogenic in nature, and may slow down thyroid gland activity, in some people......that s what Andrea means, I believe.

Thanks, it explains why I keep on having low thyroid function, I have mostly cut out soy, but as my father is an A I recently made a lasanga with toffue in it for his sake.

My thyroid usally corrects itself so it isn't a serious problem.
