Black pepper is listed as Toxin for Hunters.

Is the reason same as in BTD, coz of mould?

I'm sure someone on GTD board mentioned using szechuan pepper instead of black pepper, I know it's a very different taste but it is good

They say that basil substitutes for pepper. It isn't the same, but does the job for me as I'm not a pepper lover anyway.
Gatherers can't eat it either, if I remember correctly. Thanks for letting this borderline gatherer put her 3 cents worth in.

I wondered about the pomegranate too.  For a while I was drinking Republic of Tea's green tea with pomegranate everyday.  I've switched to Acai but I loved the pomegranate.
It probably is the mold issue with the black pepper so grinding your own may be OK????

That was the 'assumption'..........that once ground, mold starts growing. Then I wonder........when you grind pepper in a pepper mill, you always have partially unground peppercorns left. Sooooo............what would be the skinny on those?

Do all ground spices develop mold ie. cayenne pepper, turmeric, sage, etc? Or is it only black pepper that develops this mold when ground?

Oh dear, that bad huh? It doesnt seem to *do* anything to me while on BTD. On GTD I have not had it at home, but while visiting yes, it was part many other spices...and never could notice anything unusual..

IB, yes, no pressure . Just make sure that you have all the attachments with you at the conference !

I had made the assumption, maybe not correctly, that green and white peppercorns are okay.  I bought some and have been grinding them per use with a mortar and pestle.  It's delicious.    Really, really nice flavor aside from the spice.  Warrior here, but maybe it carries over.
