I'm one of those extreme tasters who can taste game in stuff that other people say they can't taste.
I was given this tip a long time ago by a friend of mine.  Allow the meat to soak in a solution of baking soda water for an hour or more.  This will remove that flavor and you'll have the best tasting meat ever!

Thanks for that helpful tidbit!  My brother used to bring home the occasional deer and I tell you what--that took some getting used to.  I'd never had lamb before that, so I'd never tasted "gamey" until the venison.  I wish we'd known about soaking it.  It was pretty rough till about the third time I had it, then I began to appreciate it a little.

I can't handle anything that tastes like I'm eating it off the barnyard floor!

As I understand it, the more diamonds you eat the more chance you have of losing weight.

Eating half and exercising double.

I have resolved to stay off the black dots now and get the weight off before I go back to them. Yay! I feel good about tightening up around this!!

WuHuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Good thing I checked this thread!!!!
Concealed Carry Gatherer means I wish I were a hunter. Hunters usually carry guns! [In Chicago, guns after 1987 are illegal, except that the gangs have them.  I do believe in the 2nd ammendment & support the right to have guns. But if they are misused, the person should be punished.
At least we can conceal & carry pepper spray. I wish that some of those bystanders in the case where that creep beat up his son & killed him in California this week had pepper spray. That would have taken care of him. I think the police finally came & killed him, but too late for the 2-yr. old son!]
As for black dots, I'm holding off for longer to make sure I get it right. I'm eating too many neutrals & have an occasional cheat. But I really gave up  many fave fruits & veggies & plan to do so for more months. I gave up these that I had eaten quite a lot of before: bananas, avocados, cherries, grapes, broccoli, etc. At least I can eat lettuce & tomato.  I also added escarole & endive to our repertoire. I had gotten away from them. We eat them cooked, which is not how they do it here. The escarole is very mild, & I like it with olive oil.

Re dairy: I am afraid to get into it as it has bothered me most of my life.
My Teacher GT friend started to eat a little havarti cheese daily which is a diamond, but got a bad upper respiratory illness. Now she stays away from it. I am afraid that dairy is like that. If you eat it, do so occasionally, not a regular part of the diet. Save it for when you go out or other emergency situations.

I wouldnt say I have *started* on dairy, but the times I have a bit of milk based desserts, I end up with a  stuffed nose which goes away after say a couple of hours. On a cellular level, God knows what happens though

I just use black dot foods when I'm away from home & have no better choice.  I stick mainly with triangle foods...this works well for me.

That's what I have been lead to believe when reading posts early on about the  GTD.

But I'm not sure now.  Anybody have results eating diamonds, superfoods and some neutrals and losing weight?   Or are the results more diamond focused?

thanks much.

Funky, this is what I do which suits me and the region I come from:

My meals in a day cover all food categories with the recommended frequencies and portions for Hunters. I eat diamonds for b'fast. I eat diamonds and super foods for lunch. I eat superfoods and some neutrals for dinner. And I follow this Mon-Fri. Sat & Sun I give myself a break with more superfoods and neutrals. I exercise 5 times a week giving myself 2 rest days.

I was not overweight to start with, but I've been wanting to get rid of 5kg for a long time. BTD & exercise enhanced my overall health, but 51/2 months of GTD helped me get rid off the 5kg. And I'm still losing. I'm not obsessed but I know that my weight will stabilise and hold steady when it has reached it's ideal weight. The inch loss has been incredible too!

Although I'm officially allowed to eat black dots now, I reserve it for visits and eating out.

I eat 5-6 meals a day, which includes 2-3 snacks comprising fruit & nuts.

I know there is this much of tested Hunter foods available in this region. And I plan my meals and recipes such that the available ingredients remain the same but the taste change to give me variety.

I had posted a testimonial about my 5 1/2 months on GTD which has details and ponderings  !

The diamond thread which Chloe started is a wonderful place to be. It's not about scoring points but really pulls you out of your comfort zone to try and add as many diamonds each day.

The fresh week thread is also a great place where folks share their food & exercise schedules. Both threads have given me encouragement to do better and better.

You are very blessed to be in the U.S. Most of the food items are available in the U.S. and you have enough and more variety to drench yourself with diamonds every day without getting bored! Not to mention your super creative ways with cooking!

Good luck Funky!
