Here's a thought....What if a person is allergic to roses...Would rose hips be an allergic supplement for them?? |

I ordered the Amla, which is basically what Victoria is taking. Hers has a few other supps in it, but I have them here, so can supp those. I just wanted to thank everyone for their help. |

Oh, Hi Italybound! You're right; I missed your question! You and I had a short discussion recently about the amount of vitamin C that I take each day. At that time, I was taking around 1,500 mg a day. However, that has recently changed. I increased my intake to 1,000 mg with each meal, or 3 grams/day. Wow! I feel a lot better on this amount. All my hangnails disappeared and I stopped seeing bruises. And my sinuses feel much clearer. So now I need to find a source for larger bottles of the amla C. |

Thanks Victoria. Wow, I'm going to need bigger bottles too I'm afraid. If you're taking that much, I prob need to as well. I thought I was getting alot w/ the Rosehip, but guess not. I ordered 6 bottles of the Amla, so hopefully when I get that, I'll start seeing some improvement. Glad you've found your level. |

Italy, weren't you taking a high dose of vit C at one time? Or was that because you believed that each cap was 500 mg of vit c?
I still drink rose hips tea, but I don't consider it a substantial source of vit c. It just seems like a good food idea because Dr. D recommends it frequently. |

It will be interesting to see how you feel after you have started really taking more vit C. I think it has helped recover from my adrenal fatigue. Here is the ingredient list for the Tru-C BioComplex that I'm presently taking. The serving size is 2 capsules: vitamin C (from Amla fruit extract) 400 mg. Amla extract 800 mg. Rutin 100 mg. Rose hips 40 mg. Grape seed extract 20 mg. The capsules are cellulose. |

Yes, it will be interesting. I was sooooo happy to be taking all that rosehip because if I remember correctly, Vit C is at the top of the 'chain' in repairing the adrenals. So hopefully I'll see some big improvements. I have all but the rutin here, so I'll add that. But wait, I just noticed, this supp has Vit C (from Amla fruit extract) AND Amla extract. what does that mean? |

It sounds like it has vitamin C that has been extracted from amla fruit, and there is also some of the fruit substance also. I like supplements that include whole food! |

I really like the Amla C too. (the one with the spirulina added.) Gotta have it. I started off taking 1/2 teaspoon twice a day; now I take a quarter teaspoon 2 times a day. But for immunity & rebuilding adrenals don't forget the vitamin A!! I'll swear by the fermented cod liver oil - especially you Hunters here. When I starting taking that at a dose of about 20,000IU per day, my energy skyrocketed - I feel almost normal now & can sleep through the night! It ain't your grandmothers cod liver oil! do you have a link for the Amla w/ spirulina. As a Hunter, now I can have it. As an O, it's an avoid. Go figure. Energy, yes, yes, I would very much like to have some of that!!!! I've read so much info on the adrenals, it seems like it's all starting to blur together, so thanks very much for the info on Vit A.. |

Glad I could help! I found that out not too long ago: every step in the conversion of cholesterol into cortisol requires vitamin A. Plus it helps with immunity. A nutrition-oriented MD started me on the Amla C a couple of years ago, at that dose: 1/2 teaspoon twice a day. It's a place to start anyway. My health food store carries it in tablet form: "Amla C Plus" by Pure Planet. I like the powder form better, but I'm not satisfied with the company I have been getting it from. Probably best to just google it. I've tried getting just bulk amla powder, but it wasn't as potent as this product.
Jayneeo, I thought having too much ear wax was a sign of low thyroid function, so maybe you are hyperthyroid? Now I'm curious about that article....I'll have to look it up again! |
