Concealed Carry Gatherer! SWAMI Explorer Blend

What I mean is that I see several who hover between hunter & gatherer. I also see the teacher-warrior conflict.
Is there some sort of pattern in this? Which 2 types do most people have problems settling into?
I did the hunter-gatherer conflict. I am sure SWAMI will put me somewhere in the middle with some explorer added as I strength test a lot for that also(left-handed, no caffeine).
Maybe SWAMI will include some non-O stuff, too. We will see.

Now that I mentioned SWAMI, will I be able to be tested for that thru my local IFHI person? I found one <3 miles from me!
Or is that to be done thru a questionnaire only?

Let the conflict begin. I'd like to know!

My big puzzle seemed to be between being an Explorer and a Gatherer. It was all based on inability to settle on finger measurements. I've settled fairly comfortably into the Gatherer slot for now.

Why don't you contact them and find out? It is up to the individual practioner whether or not they use that tool in their practice.

give it a bit more time and Dr D will be announcing whatever he has come up with.
could be a version done through your IFHI practitioner or the swami light he talked about in one of his blogs!
time will tell...

Thought I was a Gatherer at first. Didn't like it but started the Gatherer diet full blast and after a week was as sick as a dog in my tummy.

Remeasured and went full blown Hunter.  Couldn't be happier!

Trying the diet is a true test in my  mind.  It will either take you one way or the other... usually.

Ditto. Between Hunter and Gatherer.

Ended up with totally excluding finger measurements from my profile (there are people out there with no fingers/hands or only one of them after all) and strength tested. Hunter seems to come out top. One way or another my genotype will be definite when I get my taster status from the test kit (on order and nearly here!).

I'm a taster. Gatherers are non-tasters. Hunters & Explorers are super-tasters, I think!
But who knows??
Maybe both of us are SWAMI hunter-gatherers. Maybe we will be called fishers!! [Warning: Mrs T made that up! Don't panic!]
Maybe like FM said: Try the diets & see what happpens.
I am a reluctant gatherer. If I had lots of lamb instead of the storehouse of beef we have, which in neutral for gatherers, maybe I would see a difference. So far I don't see much difference, but some days I eat like a hunter due to availability. Most days this week, I'll try to 'gather' & see what happens!!
Dr. D: Please be patient with us as we navigate this new area.
We are enjoying it, but you must be cringing at all the machinations we go thru to try to justify certain things & try others.
Cheerio!

I'm also a taster and a gatherer.  Your taster status is linked to metabolism, so I attribute my good waist/hip ratio to my taster status.  I'm still quite confident that I'm a gatherer, based on measurements, though one of my ring fingers may be 1mm longer than the index finger, and I'm pretty lectin sensitive.

Right now I have been bouncing between 113 and 118 and it drving me nuts. I am trying to eat with in the gatherer guidlines. I have sweetening my tea with stevia does help quite a bit with sugar cravings. My problem is being on atight budget and having to wait to get certain things. I guess the question is do I try the hunter or explorer diet?
I admit I am exercise challenged right now I don't feel very good. I ahve been getting every bug my kids and my husband has had. I am lucky to walk on the treadmill for just 15 mins somedays with my kids. I have had to pull the one who had surgery out of school, because they will no longer service him the way he needs to be.
Yes lots of stress, need to finish all of my BT supplements and get the genotype supps. Exercise more I miss the way I felt when I was bodybuilding, I felt so healthy and strong. I want to feel that way again, maybe I should just go back BTD.  Confused right now.

Currently my project right now is making cottage cheese. I started this morning took it out at 07:30 am and it is still very cold. I am using the Joy Cook book by rombauer, becker  & becker for the cottage cheese, will allow a portion to dry out further for farmer cheese. I'll report back and let you know.

Well the cottage cheese was abust. I will try another recipe for it later. first I'll make yogurt for the one who is sick right now and those who can eat it. the starter does have many of they key bacteria included in the polyflora supplement. on another thread it is really hard to get compliant cottage cheese.  I have had to buy noncompliant and rinse it but this is a huge hassle, but i'll do it for now. I buy a container of ricotta or cottage cheese each week. My kids like it too so I don;t waste any. When I ge the chance I buy farmer cheese at wild oats.

Lola thank you, The dietary change has made so much more emotional and sensitive to foods and things people say. I am feeling frustrated because I have been sick and all of my family of has been sick. It ahs been quite stressful because DH and I have to work through it anyway. I am going through detox still and it is not feeling good.

Today has been my first totally compliant day in a while.
Breakfast was zucchini, onion, mushroom and celery chopped sauteed in olive oil and a scrambled egg. I sauteed another batch of vegies to go in the soup I ate the rest of the day with some canned turkey and chicken??? broth. I ate this for lunch and supper, Then had some more raw celery and some crushed pineapple with ricotta as dessert. I will top this all off with a couple cups of tea before bed tonight. I will probably stretch out tonight and do some light work tommorrow.

I am feeling somewhat better. I just am afraid of cooking and fixing the right stuff for my family they will eat. I worry about the changes that need to be made for my son. In a week and ahalf we'll know.

I see a lot of gatherer entries!
We must be big doubters!
It is harder to be one than a hunter. The variety is bad as I love veggies & used brown rice or rice flour to add carbs.
I can't get large amt's. of lamb & turkey right now, so I don't feel so great with the only neutral beef.
Spring should be here soon & we can get a better selection of fruits & veggies. Meanwhile, I wish I were a hunter!!
