Warrior Portion size for Vegetable Proteins
Portion size Nuts Seeds 1/2 cup; Nut butters 2 Tablespoons Frequency: At Least twice daily.
I take this to mean that the portion is limitless. I don't thing that is what is intended. Any thoughts?

I don't know what it means but I have eaten more than the minimum and am still losing weight, slowly but surely. It does need clarifying, doesn't it? Some people may not be able to lose weight eating a whole lot of nut butters, especially. |

I've been eating at least the minimum of almonds and am still losing, too. I think, though, that the at least part should be removed. |

The words "at least" imply a minumum rather than a maximum and are used elsewhere in guidance for other foods/genotypes. There is no reason at this time to think it is an errata. |

I take it to mean more is better as if these foods are metabolic stimulators. |

What I find, with Almond butter at least, is that I get tired of the taste when I've had enough. Sometimes, I eat it from a spoon until satisfied... I need to gain weight and increase energy, so eating enough is usually my problem, not eating too much. I like the "At Least" - it tells me that if I need more, this is where I should eat it. |

Do you think that they would make you gain weight? I don't think they would. Why would Peter let people eat all that food with the idea that they will gain weight rather then lose or maintain. It doesn't make sense to me. I think the Black Dot foods will make you gain weight. I would look at them if I was underweight.

More is better only works in some senses. A somewhat contrived example would be that you chose to eat 2,316 servings of nut butter every week. Clearly, that would be too much of even a superfood. From a more reasonable standpoint there is no reason to go out of your way to consume extra, it is there if you need it. The category includes beans and legumes as well. Since this is a primary protein source for Warriors it would be my guess that much of that would be from the bean/legume camp. In the sense that you use the foods in a reasonable fashion, you can use as much as you feel you need. Some atheletes or very large people will clearly need more while dainty folk who aren't too active may not need so much. |

This brings up a good point: we all should be listening to our bodies and finding out what works for us in terms of how much of a food to eat, instead of blindly following what other people say. Just my opinion, so take it as such. |

Or ME! But seriously, I gain weight from peanut butter (food of the Gods) and almond butter and nuts. I have to go easy. |
