Is everyone talking about that 30 second snippet that they gave to the GTD?

Talk about mindless mainstream!!!

Quoted from Chloe
Sometimes it pays to take a stand and stop allowing free speech to be biased and mean spirited!

Actually, I would fight to the death to protect free speech in this country, including speech which personally offends me.  HOWEVER, once I fought tooth and nail to defend "their" right to speak, I would get right out there with MY signs and megaphone and keyboard and/or whatever and shout 'em down!  Or "truth 'em down".

In other words, I defend Joy Behar's right engage in speech which irks the living daylights out of me.  But then I will be right there responding and saying exactly what I think of it.

Free speech isn't just for those who agree with us or even for those who are respectful and civil and don't BUG us.  It is for all, even the most offensive among us.  And when we hear something that offends us, it is then our right and duty to speak right out in response.

Curious to what this obsession with Joy Behar is....
Could she be tapping into some sort of shadow archetype that is triggering this response???

I just saw her as a ravenous O... you know how some O's can get when they need to eat...

Apologies, I haven't read all the responses here, and I didn't see the View because it isn't broadcast in Asia to my knowledge. But I did look up the ABC website link in the Recap section. This is how it introduces the Diet summaries:

"And finally, with every new year comes a new batch of diet books, so what better way to wrap up today's diet theme show than by giving you a round of this year's weight-loss promising paperbacks. Dr. Ian Smith stopped by to talk about some of the hottest diets for 2008, and here are his top picks for shedding those pounds..." (the highlights are mine)

Seems to me that it's only this Joy person displaying her closed-mindedness. If the GTD is not as attractive to her uninformed mind as either of the others, it's still in the top 2 or 3 of all the 1000s of diets out there as chosen by the show's "experts". So let's keep this in perspective.

Here's my testimonial. I've been on the BTD for a year now. I can't give away our unwanted Christmas alcohol/wheatie presents etc because everyone I know in this country has been "converted"! Even my mother-in-law in the UK was telling us about the weight/inches she's lost on the BTD.

Go Dr. D, go!

Note to self: I am me, and also an O-nonnie - I'm allowed not to fit the mould.

a ravenous O doesn t refer to a scrumptious mouth watering lamb shishkebab as 'disgusting'!!

it felt satisfying  to voice my opinion to the show that pays her salary after she offended a man I respect.

Chloe, you did the right thing!
let us know if these people respond to your opinion.....
defamation is a cowardly irresponsible attitude, and should never be tolerated!

the best (and nicest ) comment about joy behar was by P.T. "she could benefit from some yam cream rubbed gently into her skin."

Ian Smith, M.D. said that he's a Warrior.  Joy Behar quickly announced that the GTD doesn't work.  She said " oh, it's like the BTD"  Dr. Smith said "yes, it's from the same doctor"  then Joy said "oh, him again".  I'm so sorry that Joy said that about Dr. D because both the GTD as well as the GTD does work very well. I'm still amazed at how different I feel in the most positive of ways...increased energy, drastically reduced joint pain, a weight loss of 10 pounds and I no longer get infections from minor cuts....this is a big change for me.

we have heard this about Joy Behar...don't know why....people get a bead on a subject and just stick to it...she's written it off, but hopefully no one pays a lot of attention to her.

The only way Dr. D can prove them wrong is by the higher percentage of people who do very well on his programs! Then they can't say anything.

That's gotta be a re-run of the same "The View" episode, as Joy Behar said that "Oh, him again!" line already.

I thought she was very rude when the GTD was presented on "The View", dismissing it out-of-hand without even really listening to what the presenting doctor was trying to say about it.  I mean, let the guy get two words out before you start whaling on the diet, geez.

P.S.  Here's the thread from when that episode first aired, including a link to "view" (no pun intended) it on line, which is located in post #48 of the thread:

I wasn't aware that it was a re-run.  I hadn't seen it before.    Unfortunately, lots of people like myself were seeing it for the first time. Joy Behar was totally rude and totally wrong.
