I don't know who has watched all the new GTD videos, but I have.  I set about checking my fingerprints today, and ended up with some purple fingers.  My prints didn't turn out all that clear, but enough ink is on my hands to see the fingerprint quite clearly on my hands!  First finger prints are definitely not the same.  I think I am heading vor explorer status, but from stressful fetal environment!!!  I am distressed (classically!)

The other fingerprints seem to match, though I feel like I have something of a double loop: part loops up and part down.  Definitely not a circle or just a small hill!  

And now the real bomb: my hands are FULL of those unsightly ridges that mean I have trouble with gluten and lectins!  (And I am mostly compliant and eat no wheat!)

It's all from that nasty stressful pre-natal environment! My Mom will undoubtly let out a little scream when I tell her!  And after all these years of her blaming all my problems on my husband! MOM!!!

My old thread on fingerprints is long gone.  Most of my fingerprints are arches.  Arches are only seen in 5-6% of fingerprints!  !  I do have one ulnar loop on one thumb.

5% of fingerprints are arches
30% are whorls
65% are arches

I'm holding off on determining if I have white lines until I have real fingerprint ink to test with.  I wish the genotype kit would come out in advance of the book   So as we read, we'll know which type we are.

I agree with Vicki, vent here, give your Mom a break.  Who knew this stuff back then.  My mom
had 6 kids in the 50-60's.  I am the second child, I can't get decent fingerprints because of how
"worn out" my finger pads are.  I am trying to use lotion, take care of them for the time that the kit is available also.  I am sure my own kids were subjected to stress in utero also.  I just look at it
as information to help refine the diet/health for today.  But I must admit, this is kind of fun, fingerprinting, etc.  
I want to restate here, I tried to get a job as a teacher's aide a year or two ago.  They needed fingerprinting done by the local police.  I had it done 3 times, on their computer fingerprinter, at a
different location the third time.  They basically said my prints were unreadable.  At that point I decided against the job anyway.  The vice principal teased me that I could have a "life of crime" and
they couldn't catch me because of the prints......ha, ha....and this was a catholic school......but
that was also before I knew about prints and the gtd info....says a lot to me about wheat also.

Maybe "criminals" using sandpaper to remove their fingerprints is a total myth?  Maybe it is all about diet being out of sync with the body.

I decided to ink up my fingers and do some prints. What a surprise I had. I have so many white lines I could barely make out my finger print. The print is very light and almost unreadable. I tried them again in the evening after scrubbing the ink off from doing my sons fingers. My prints were easier to read but still very light and full of white lines. Almost looks like major scarring!
I know that when I try to flip thru catalogs my finger tips hurt. I think I must have very low ridges and the paper hurts my skin. My hubby has ridges you can actually feel and no white lines!
MY blood work says I do not have a wheat or gluten allergy and I have removed it from my diet as a good O shoul but still white lines galore.

I have the white lines as well. I have been gluten free for 8 months and they have improved but not gone away. Both of my daughters (who are also gluten free) have them too, along with unsymmetrical patterns. I guess that means they were stressed in-utero   What causes this early stress?

My prints are mostly arches with loops on my pinkies and middle fingers. My kids nave all three patterns, whorls on thumbs, loops on two or three noncorresponding fingers and arches on the rest.

I am anxious to read the book and see what kind of fine tuning I can do for us. It's looking like I am an Explorer. Should be interesting

Tip for looking at the fingerprint images after you've completed fingerprinting:

1) use a 10X mirror to view them - hold the mirror facing the page - the page held out upside down and the mirror between you and the page.

2) For those who don't have a 10X mirror, lucky you...  If you  have a scanner, you can scan in the images and then zoom in to get a closer look.

The scanner idea works great good idea I needed to increase DPI to 600 to get a good close up look,
I have no white lines at all.

The problem with your scanned fingerprint image is you can't see the edges of your fingerprint to look for the delta(s)/triradius(triradii).

One delta/triradius and it is a loop.
Two deltas/triradii and it is a whorl.

Arches have no deltas/triradii.

nope, sorry, just 4. D4s & D5s are whorls, the rest are all loops.

Yes, I have at least 6 that I can see. It startled me to see that equated having a positive mammogram. I'm not exactly sure what that means. Glad I'm on the right diet. Also ordered some of the snail supplement (helix something or other) that is specifically supposed to help prevent breast cancer.

I have seven, but I'm a male Hunter, so I'm not too worried.  However, my dad's a Type A and I wonder how many whorls he has.  I plan on checking next time I see him.  I know the book says that women are most at risk; however, he's been battling cancer for a few years now.  

Yeah, the way I see it is the same as the book says and the same as you said, purlgir--eating and exercising right is the way.

I was startled too. But I have already put a lot of energy into making my life healthier and more positive. So now I feel even more determined to keep learning and apply what I  learn.

I  went to  local library and requested Dr D's Cancer book and  I plan to order the snail suppliment too.

Thanks for responding. I was afraid the subject might seem  negative to some. But I see this as just another positive step forward.

I have nine whorls (with one composite whorl-loop) and a history of cancer on my dad's side of the family, so you better believe I do what Dr. D tells me!

I have all arches, every finger matches and so does my mom. But her mother died of breast cancer when she was 42 so I was glad to see that I had a reduced risk. Even though Im a teacher I dont seem to match the majority by having at least two whorls. Both my boyfriends mother and her sister have at least 6 whorls and they both just got over having breast cancer in the last two years. They are in their early sixties and late fifties so if you do have those whorls do as much as you can to keep breast or any other cancer away.

Brighid arn't the composite one odd. Mine go up around and down then turn again going up and over and back down. One more turn and they would be a Greek Key design. There are 2 deltas so Dr C said to count them as whorls.
Four cases of cancer in my immediate family. So I'm sharing GTD info  - but it's kind of slow go. Takes time to absorbe and get the sence of it. And some people are just not interested.  
Hoping the grandkids will take to it.

Purlgirl, yes the composite one is kind of strange. It's still a whorl, but an elongated one. It does have two deltas so I guess it would be considered a whorl, that really makes ten . . . *sigh* My paternal grandparents both had cancer (grandpa died of pancreatic cancer, grandmother had a radical mastectomy but survived to the age of 93 and died peacefully in her sleep), father died of colon cancer. I don't know about my mother's family's medical history other than one great-uncle who died of brain cancer. Bad enough to know about dad's side! That's warning enough for me!

So I take Dr. D's cancer precautions very, very seriously.

I do! Actually, I have nine (but that's just from looking with the naked eye--I haven't taken my fingerprints yet, nor looked through a magnifying glass).

I have only 2 whorls and they are oval both on D:2. The rest are loops.
