Hi! I am new to this forum and new to BTD, I am excited to know more and still learning.
BTW I am struggling WD acne. Actually I am acne free until I started using a facial foam that results to breakout on my cheeks since then I had on and off acne prob. That time I just finished college. All my life I ate anything most esp unhealthy foods. I don't eat veges, no fish, more on meat and oily foods, fast foods and unhealthy snacks. Anyways I don't need to bother and just now, small pimples coming out all over my face and thus I decided to change my diet. I came upon this kind of diet and opened my eyes, I am still researching, studying and will be looking for foods that is beneficial for me. I know this is a bit difficult but I will for my skin and health. Its been three mos since my pimples did not heal and its the longest of my experience. And also I used many products already for my face like st dal four, beauche, I also took glutathione which I think I am allergic. But most of what I used helped me for a while then breakout after several mos.

Hopefully with you guys having the long experience of BTD can give me advices. Really appreciate it.. thanks

Welcome fellow B!  Changing your diet will help.  You are what you eat.  Your skin also need water so make sure you drink enough to stay hydrated.  The BTD NAP Genoma skin products are good quality.  Wash your face with hot then cold water to open & close pores.

How do you do with tooth paste or shampoo that contains Sodium Laurel Sulfate? It makes me break out where ever I use it. oSLS is the most common, and cheapest, foaming agent in personal car products. That is not restricted to a single blood type though.

Thanks guys., I don't have access to those products coz I live very far. I am planning to buy grape seed extract  soap for my face though when I visit the city, I read that it is good for b types. Now I am starting to have a 3 day diet of bananas , papayas and watermelon only. Those are the only fruits available here that is beneficial for B's. I also use egg white for the face overnight and the other night emu oil. I am still experimenting. Pls tell me if I am doing the right thing,, BTW for two mos already I used retinoic crem, acne gel, glycolic cream for my face and it seems no effect so I stopped... really thanks

It is better to eat a balanced diet of all food groups based on the portion sizes and frequencies listed in the book you are following.  May as well start off the best you can.

For skin break out - what works well for me is
LOTS of water
veggies fruit
Full fat dairy - fermented like yoghurt and sour cream best- low fat/no fat makes me brak out.
Omega3 fish oil- especially important if you dont eat fish.

Keep sugar and grains very low- look out for avoid oils in your diet.

My skin loves coconut oil, roseseed oil, carrotseed oil and macadamia oil put on topically.

Yes, detoxing is a must for clearing up acne long-term, but a 50/50 combination of raw apple cider vinegar and hydrogen peroxide is an excellent, inexpensive skin tonic. My B+ son struggles with acne, although I'm sure it would be far worse without the blood type diet.

The care of the complexion is not just a matter of diet and topical applications but also cleansing method. I know neither your age nor sex, nor even where you are located, but I'll do my best with general info.

Try a facial steam once or twice a week. You can lean over a bowl/pot of steaming water into which you've introduced pure essential oils. I'd start with chamomile or lavender, these being rather easily tolerated by even very sensitive skins. This will open the pores for a deeper cleanse.

Use a masque once or twice a week. Any fruit acid base is good (banana, avocado, peach - apple sauce...whatever would spoil otherwise in the fridge! Bind it with some meal or flour and honey...If it needs moisture, a touch of flower water (rosewater is the usual) works, as does weak green tea, or plain water; use just enough to moisten - you don't want this dripping off your face. A masque made with clay can more powerfully extract impurities from the pores, but some clays are gentler than others. Leave it on a quarter hour or so. Rinse well with warm water, patting with soft cloth.

I would not use soap, and I'd keep alcohol-BASED toners away from your face. Use witch hazel as your cleanser. (Note that prepared witch hazel is extracted with alcohol - this small amount is okay, balanced by the witch hazel.) Then apply sweet almond oil into which you've infused a few lavender essential oil drops - that's your "moisturizer". Most people think applying oil to blemished skin is bad. It's the type of oil that matters. Do NOT put jojoba oil on skin that has acne; it is clogging.

I'm suggesting lavender for all these products because it is so well tolerated, so cleansing and so healing, over a vast spectrum of skin types and conditions. And it won't break the bank.

This regimen is cleansing and effective on both male and female skin - Male skin can be somewhat thicker and more likely to tolerate "stronger" essential oils and clays, but you've got to start somewhere.

Then: Sunshine.
Don't forget the happiness and relaxation. Since you're a B, I'd say: Dance, Singing, Laughter (at least one solid belly laugh per day), Tai Chi, windchimes and pleasant music and breezes around you as much as possible. This is no joke.

Take three handfuls of fresh thyme. Dice up.

Mix with 2 cups alcohol (Everclear is one with high proof but can use vodka instead)

Let sit for one day covered.

Add 3 cups water. Solution will gradually turn an amber gold color.

Bottle. Wash skin AM and PM.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply. I'm from the Phiippines female 27 and single.
Thank you all for the suggestions.
I made my own yogurt and I think I break out on those also with apple cider,. I am not yet sure. So I again star ted to fast with bananas when I felt really hungry. I still continued with emu oil because I think it helps. But with the food I am not sure who's the culprit.

Lambplus, I'm afraid the advice you've been given to fast with fruit is not in your best interest generally, and may only complicate whatever healing your body needs to do. While there are proponents of fasting elsewhere, the BTD is all about regaining equilibrium gently and naturally. Please have another long look at Dr. D's book and try to follow the dietary guidelines and implementation as closely as possible. We want to see you succeed!

At the top of your screen is a series of pull down menus. You'll find a link for the bookstore inside 'Products And Services'

What food list are you currently using? What are your primary goals? It will help you considerably to understand the principals behind Bloodtype and Genotype diets.

Oh another Pinoy, Hello. , Do you have a BTD book? I asked cause resource are scarce here even in Manila. Reading it would allow you to grasp and understand the basic concept of this diet. Oh yea, Don`t fully eat all beneficial foods, gradually introduce it to your system.

What has surprised me? What has touched me? What has inspired me?
