Hi folks, haven't posted here for a long time...
I just purchased a Basic Pack O, and I’m concerned about the Rhodiola rosea present in the Polyvite (I should have looked more closely at the ingredient list).
It may be contraindicated with a medical condition that I have (which requires medication), and i'm wondering if the amounts contained within the Polyvite are dangerous to me.
Or if others have had any side affects? I have had very bad "trips" with this stuff in the past. So my motto as of late is, "i've already fallen off that tree before...don't care to do it again."
also, no need to throw out the "it's natural!" argument because so is cocaine and marijuana. natural things can mess with our head just as much as synthetic.
sorry for the cynicism here. just ticked off that the Dadamo supps don't have a specific warnings on them (emphasis on specific). |

All the dadamo (NAP) supplements have a link on the particular product page with all ingredients clearly printed. Big print and easy to read. |

Polyvite contans Rhodalia 12.5 mg per pill. A more typical dose in Rhodalia supplements is 200-600mg. You might be able to take it without problems, but there are herbs that I do not tolerate any of. If you are not certain you want to take it or are experiencing adverse effects when you are taking it --->you should contact DNP to see what can be done: By phone: 1-877-226-8973 (Toll-Free inside the US) By phone: 1-203-761-0042 (Outside the US) By email: support@4yourtype.com The may be willing to replace the polyvite with Exakta which is a multivitamin suitable for Os that does not contain Rhodiola rosea. http://www.4yourtype.com/prodinfo.asp?number=NP052 |

they all are neutriceutical grade
meaning I open them up and dump into salads
or add to my dressing
in smoothies as well
I consider them all safe
you in turn should contact your physician and discuss the content of your basic pack
he might give you the green light |

Call or email DPN with your specific concerns. This product may be OK for you if the dose of rhodiola is low enough. Or you may do better with a polyvite that's intended for a different blood type (just as type Bs with dairy allergies or type As with soy allergies often use the type O protein powder.) |

You might be able to take it without problems, but there are herbs that I do not tolerate any of.
As stated above there is no way to be sure if any given amount is safe for you. Given the contraindication it would be safest not to use it - even though the dose might be low enough not to be a problem. What particular aspect of the rhodiola is an issue and whether you are getting the same thing from some other natural sources such as cooking herbs are all part of the consideration. As an example, rhodiola acts as an MAOi to some degree. That can be a problem for sensitive people or people on some medications. On the other hand some common foods and herbs also act as MAOi's, such as turmeric (just one example). |

thanks everyone. i'm gonna take C-sharp's advice: "The may be willing to replace the polyvite with Exakta which is a multivitamin suitable for Os that does not contain Rhodiola rosea."
Never hurts to ask : ) |
