Hi all,
I am a professional athlete and a non secretor type O.
I am aware that coconut oil is an avoid for type O. As I get regular massages, they use organic coconut oil. Will this have an impact on my health from the absorption of the oil into my skin?

Unless you're allergic to coconuts, it's perfectly safe to use coconut oil topically, even if you shouldn't be ingesting it. |

Adsac23, as a non-secretor, coconut oil would be a neutral for you to consume. But as ruthiegirl mentioned, when used topically, it wouldn't be a problem anyway. |

Coconut oil is a wonderful skin oil, no matter what the food rating. Only if there is some sort of allergy, should it be avoided - but that has nothing to do with your blood-type food list. |

Hi there adsac23 I'm an O nonnie (non-secretor) with Swami Xpress personalised diet and I get coconut oil as a Superfood. All other coconut products are avoids. I also use it on my skin. The book Live Right for your Type has Coconut oil as a "Neutral" for O Nonnies too. Mark Sisson on Marksdailyapple.com has some fantastic articles on consuming coconut oil as part of a primal/paleo lifestyle. Dr. D has said that O Nonnies need to be more paleolithic in their eating habits due to inherent carbohydrate intolerance. Hope this helps, even if you don't start eating it, it will do nothing but good for your skin... |
