i have paprika as superfood. best avoided are: chili powder pepper, black pepper, red flakes. i read on some paprika's labels a lot of ingredients, i don't want to buy something that probably will be an avoid for me. could you please tell me one label of the best "real"paprika you have ever tasted?i've never use it -yet-so i would really appreciate your suggestion. thank you |

their are two kinds of paprika, Spanish and Hungarian. Spanish is typically hotter and Hungarian is the most commonly sold and happens to be "sweet". i happen to like both as i have grown the Spanish variety (seeds from rareseeds.com ) and i order Hungarian by the pound from nutsonline.com |

Szego brand Hungarian paprika is available in more regular grocery stores than some other brands and you can buy either the sweet Hungarian paprika or the hot. The hot IS hot! I use both. Good Hungarian paprika is wonderful!
Be cautioned that regular brands of bottled spices on store shelves are almost never the best things to buy, and not just because the price per ounce is a total rip off. The quality is usually very low also. Paprika and sage are two things I always advise people to avoid in the "regular brands" if humanly possible. Both are just plain bitter-nasty. |

I've found this to be true as well. Hard to beat Pensey's for freshness. Unfortunately, though, not organic. |
