Food combining works really well for some people, particularly those with GI problems. Other people find that it isn't necessary. The only way I could ever "do proper food combining" as well as keep my blood sugar stable would be if I never ate any fruit or grains. I MUST have those higher-carb foods with fat and protein or I get blood sugar swings.

Hi Santina,

Everything I knew about food combining basically 'went out the window' when I got my geno harmonic guidelines.  And because geno harmonics fascinate me I now ignore all the food combining rules I used to follow and instead am having so much fun with geno harmonics. Ann's article was nice, but I think bloating is a lot more complicated for many of us.

tried just fish or chicken with veggies, but felt something missing. So, I still like rice around lunch time, it makes a big difference, possibly to do with adding the sweet and moist post-digestive effect(vipak) - this is Ayurvedic philosophy. I also need the grain and nuts to mantain my weight. Made home-made ghee last weekend, much nicer than other ghee.
I with I knew more about bloating too, the last time was when I had a green smoothie in the afternoon (raw spinach and fruit), and before that, after eating salad and raw onions for lunch, so sometimes it is the type of food, or way eaten(ie raw) or fruit in afternoon. Or mixing veg with fruit if one's enzymes are low in the afternoon. It can take time to work out what is going on internally.
I also feel, with myself, it involves the underlying imbalances in the physiology. this also can show in changes to skin, hair, sleep problems, headaches.
