I'm Blood Type O - Hunter

I'm 52 (in April) 5'9" 255 lbs.
I want to be 195 lbs. I want to loose 65 pounds!

SO, I think I'm going to try to drink 12 oz of vegetables-fruits, per week.

I get enough beets.

Sometimes I eat Adzuki beans.

I eat Black beans and black eye peas.

Ideas for blended vegetables and fruits (mix any combination):

Vegetables
1. Kale
2. Romaine Lettuce
3. Swiss Chard
4. Broccoli
5. Parsnip
6. Turnip
7. Yellow Squash (makes the whites of my eyes so white)
8. Chicory
9. Ginger
10. Maitake Mushroom
11. Onion
12. Kelp
13. Cilantro
14. Garlic
15. Pumpkin Pie

Fruits
1. Pear
2. Peach
3. Pineapple
4. Banana
5. Blueberry
6. Lemon
7. Mango
8. Guava
9. Sweet Potato Pie
10. Grapefruit

And I want to buy Plant Sterols pills.

Do you think this dietary lifestyle change will pull weight off of me?

(I have an exercise program. But I think not getting 25 -125 grams of protein per day is also part of the problem.)

I'm all for green veggie drinks, even 16 oz weekly.

Three vegetables that I miss in your veggie list:
a) Celery stalks - I'd say vital, have some in your juice every time, and in your stews/soups.
b) Parsley, in addition to cilantro.
c) Zucchini (unpeeled).

Banana is considered excellent for adding potassium, it just should be consumed away from other foods, because it is digested so fast, and together with other foods it causes fermentation in the stomach.

As long as you follow somewhat the portion sizes and frequencies outlined in the book and get the recommended exercises, you should be able to get pretty healthy...  As the body gets healthy, it will regulate the weight as needed.

12 oz. of vegetables juiced per week doesn't sound excessive...  According to the Beverages recommendation, Hunters are recommended 2-4 servings of 6-8 ounces per day.  Not all of this needs to be juices, but it won't hurt to have some of it be.  It takes quite a bit of vegetable or fruit to make 6 to 8 ounces of juice...

Hunters are also recommended to get 4 to 5 cups of vegetables and 3 cups of fruit per day, so juicing(using the whole component) is a way to get these in easier.

Celery is neutral for me. I was at Dr. D'Adamo's clinic Feb. 10, 2006. I got a binder.
Zucchini is neutral.
Parsley and bananas are beneficials for me.

So, I'm admitting I often go more than a month without eating 1/2 pound of Romaine Lettuce and Kale.

So, I'm not that healthy and I must be more acidic than alkaline.

Glad to see someone voted in the poll! I really appreciate that.

I think Dr. D'Adamo has recipes. It would be nice if he got on the Vitamix/Nutribullet bandwagon and made up recipes like I'm trying to do.

When should a O - Hunter have

I have seen some quality / reliability problems from Nutribullet.  I know it is quite a bit less expensive than a Vitamix, but you can typically find used ones for less, if necessary.

Anytime you want to...  Some vegetables for each meal is great to attempt to get all of the portions in each day.

There is a BIG difference between juicing fruits and veggies and turning them into smoothies in a blender like a Vita Mix.  Juicing gives you only part of the whole food.  The Vita Mix keeps the whole food - in thick liquid form.  Therefore, the smoothies are better for your health.

I should have worded my last sentence more carefully.  Saying "therefore, the smoothies are better for your health" made it sound like I knew about the health of the original poster - which I do not.  My humble apologies!

That would be 10+ servings/day.  That's a lot.

I have done that on some days since I usually have ~ 5 servings at lunch. When I have a large salad at night as well, that gets close.

I shoot for 7-12 servings vegetables/day of all types, combined. Usually about half is greens of some sort (salad or cooked).

Several indicators:

BM consistency...

Desire for no pulp in the juices...

SWAMI output rating high fiber vegetables lower than their juice...

I used all three together for DD to know why she was protesting eating whole vegetables, but would gladly drink juice.  The three together pointed to her doing much better with less fiber.
