Does anyone have a helpful safe "cure"/treatment for acne scars that are around 15 years old. They are not bad at all, but I would like to try something to make them even less noticable than they are right now! I am Blood Type O+, nonnie. I follow the diet very strictly.
Thankyou!

I had some stretch marks on my belly fade when I started using magnesium oil on my whole body, including my belly. Magnesium oil is a magnesium chloride solution; it has an oily texture but doesn't actually contain any oil.

I would put it on, let sit for about half an hour, then wash off. I also would put oil on my skin after the shower; a homemade blend of coconut oil and rice bran or olive oil. One blend I made included cocoa butter.

I don't know if the cocoa butter or the mag oil was responsible for the scars fading. They never did go away completely though, even as I continued doing this.

Do you think I should try a magnesium oil on my face? Are there any side effects to using it on my face? Clogged pores, irritation, buring, worsening of scras possibly?

It could be irritating,  but there's no way it could worsen the scars. I used it on my face regularly. I put it on my hands and gently rub into my face, so I don't accidentally spray into my eyes. It does help pimples go away faster, and helps minor scars go away quicker. The kind that would normally fade in 1-2 weeks will be gone in a few days with the mag oil. I have no experience with long-term acne scars.

L26,

I've been using Sunfood's Magnesium Oil all over.  I also put it on my face.  Most magnesium oils have to be washed off but this one doesn't.  It usually only stings if there is an active skin issue.

You don't have to worry about that it sounds like.

It is also very (and I do mean very) helpful for sleeping.  I spray it on my feet and legs and under my arms as recommended.  I even read on one of the site's comments that someone used it on their gums (finger dipped in the liquid).

I would definitely try it.

I use magnesium oil (although mostly Epsom salts oil) all over including in my ears, in my mouth and all sorts of areas.

suggest you test a bit on somewhere like you leg first as it absorbs less than most places on your body. if it stings a bit then apparently that is an indication that you are low in magnesium. so perhaps start off slow, have a few Epsom salts baths to start. then after a while move on to magnesium chloride baths and magnesium chloride oi.

I would suggest that you diet is still lacking in something or you are eating avoids as usually the skin corrects itself when you are eating right for your type. and your vitamins and minerals are balanced.

you may find that even soaking your feet in Epsom salts correct s some skin issues - but getting the food right s a pre-requisite.

But healing can take time. Even after you're eating the right foods, it takes time to detox from the toxins you used to ingest and rebuild nutrient stores.  Eating well enough to prevent new acne breakouts may not be enough to heal old scars, especially if those scars are severe.

And I JUST NOW noticed your new name PC. I was wondering who this "p cuk" person was.

I have decided to try rose hip oil and see if that has any luck!! Thank you all for your input. If the rose hip oil shows no signs of improvement than I will try my luck with magnesium. I think I would be ok using it because I take plenty of magnesium daily.
Again thank you all!!!!

How about a zinc based ointment?

I had a small 'pock mark' from scrathcing chicken pox, which I had at age 6.  In my 30s, when I improved my diet (pre-BTD), it went away!!

Vitamin E is also good for getting rid of scars.
Recently, I started mixing a capsule of vit. E & vit. A & putting it on my face. After all, I am 66 & if I eat wrong the day before, I wake up looking my age.
Using this A & E combo helps. I put it on & later shower it off - no special time frame.

Some of the regulars here use magnesium oil on the skin. So the skin can also be a valuable place to utilize to help us get healthy!
