Keep doing this.. here is how it worked for me..

I read the book on dieting and cravings control in Shangri-la.. online

There it sadi to take ONE tablespoon inbetween meals.. I do it in place of a snack..

IT has to be taken one hour away from any food to stop cravings.. It has to have no flovor attached menatlly..

so much for the diet part of it...

I did that Twice a day or even Three times a day to stop cravings.. ! That was MY reason...

I had been constipated for nealry two decades... and most nothing I did worked..

Then aftrer the Oil after two weeks I could eliminate without problems, no need for help .. not dry any more, not pebbely any more, not straining any more.. A miracle as far as I could see the results.. WHICH where totally unexpected, where a side effect of just wanting to stop my hunger and or cravings..

For me IT worked, so hang in there... take more of it.. try to take it away from food for now, later that may not matter as much.

After the first few month, I was taking less Oil -- actuallym I did not take all of that whole table spoon, just whatever spoon I had handy.. and it still worked..

The nice part about the diet book mentioned above, is that you can read it  free, and you do that with any way you eat.. meaning no need to change what you eat, just add the oil in place of snacks and stop the cravings.. and reduce your next meal intake..

Now, on a day's I take less oil or take it less often .. but after a few days without I am constipated again... It works and I am certain it will work, but give it two weeks at least.. or three..

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

What's your overall diet like Jazmine? How much water, how much fiber, how much fat? Are you still including any "avoid" foods in your diet, and if so, which ones and in what quantities?

Also, what supplements are you taking? The calcium/magnesium ratio can affect bowel function. Too much calcium/too little magnesium can lead to constipation, and the opposite can lead to diarrhea. You may need to cut your calcium intake and/or increase your magnesium intake to "loosen things up."

Try magnesium citrate supplements. They're great for us B's.

different things work for different people I guess.
Not sure about olive oil for this problem, for some with sluggish liver or pancreas/gall bladder, the oil is just another problem esp if it is not fresh.
Most people eat too much, and it is due to habits, this prob exists, even eating so much cooked food which makes the intestines weak/lazy. esp that bread with yeast, and too many fruits/sugars as I did when I was younger.
More raw juices, esp a GREEN juice first thing in morning very good, try - cucumber, zucchini, parsley, green apple, half an organic lemon with skin on, celery, asparagus, spinach.  Do it every day, notice results. these are whole foods, nutrients get into cells quickly helping detox process.  Have a green smoothie after with some nuts for more magnesium.
Carrot/beet works in afternoon, but try it, see what works for you.
Others eat seeds, flax, or chia in morning.
Magnesium easily found in vegetables, nuts, whole foods. Maybe assimilation of nutrients can be improved.  Also yoga, stretching, walking good.  One 24 hr distilled water fast per weak good too.  Keep it in mind!

A 24 hour water fast? I think I would get very sick from trying that. They may be helpful for some individuals, but not for all.

Magnesium of any sort would be a good idea. but something is wrong in your diet to start with.

usually grains of some sort

not a problem I have to worry about but my mother on the other hand is a constant.
she takes double her mag, no dried fruit only fresh, and more water. I have never known her to try the oil though we have used it on the cats before. I will point this post out to her, as this is a problem she has delt with her whole life she would be more helpful.

What's your mom's diet like and do you know her blood type? She most likely needs to work on her gut flora, but it's possible that one of her dietary staples is constipating her.

BD means deblynn3, I've never tried taking oil between meals, I find the mag.oil helps the most, and I really need to drink liquids. For whatever reason I seem to have a dry system. I have upped my oil. We had a thread (last year?) on constipation one point made is to sip your water. I also do all that BD has says above. I would have to mix the oil in a juice as oily stuff is difficult for me to get down.

One point I'd like to add is I've switch mostly to walnut oil, which used in the Doc's membrosa  (sp?) and is also a diamond on my swami.

Jazmine- what is your diet like right now? If you could post some sample day's menus- including approximate times and quantities of each food, we can help you brainstorm both the constipation and the fatigue/possible low blood sugar spells you mentioned in another post.

Jazmine, may I ask why no grains? their are several benni grains listed for B's in general even though some of them are more seeds than grains. if you are not getting any grains where are you getting your fiber? a lack of fiber could be a huge problem for your constipation.

I disagree with this- you get plenty of fibre from non grain food..
Grains for me is luxury;
I dont really benefit from most of them and eating grains makes me constipated( really sticky.. sorry for info

While a diet of fermented dairy and veggies , veggies, good fats as well as protein makes my tummy happy

I was not just talking about just grain fiber but fiber in general. it is one more angle to look at. I get a ton of fiber off just a mango!

It is just that I so often hear
oh you don´t eat grains??  you must lack fibre

Actually some people gets worse with high fibre diets.
