It's vitamin C. Ascorbic acid is often made from a corn source. For those of us who are very sensitive, avoiding all traces of corn may be necessary. I personally need to avoid any juices with "added vitamin C". I don't even use a multivitamin for this reason.

However, most people are not this sensitive. My children have zero reaction to ascorbic acid, and I freely give them multivitamins that contain vitamin C.

I do not think you need to worry about this right now. It can't hurt to look in the store for juices with absolutely no additives, but there's no reason to NOT use the juice you've already purchased, and there's no reason to avoid juices with added vitamin C if you can't find any without it.

At least, I assume you meant "ascorbic acid" even though you typed in "absorbic acid." The mis-spelling might have been why you had problems finding anything on an internet search.

From what Ruthie is saying, it's also little wonder that ascorbic acid only represents one form of vitamin C, instead of the "full spectrum C" found in fruits and veggies that keep us healthy during cold, virus and flu season.

Ascorbic acid is part of vitamin C not a form of it.  And yes, you need the full form of vitamin C to utilize it the best.
