Hello --- I was just wondering if any that are heavily experienced could give me some advice as to where to start? I have been following the BTD for a while off and on. I am not totally off all the avoids yet, as I am stopping them do I need to detox then start taking the vitamins for my blood type ?? Or start with taking the vitamins and then detox? I see how all the avoids are causing a lot of my health issues, so I need the vitamins to help in the areas where I have issues? lol Because I would be a walking vitamin vending machine if I took everything I thought my body needed ... I hope this wasnt too much questions... thank you for your time and help!!

To each their own – some people toe dip and slowly emerge themselves into the diet while other jump right into the deep end.  

Finish the avoids in your house but don’t buy new ones.  Add beneficials to your diet.  Try new foods.  I discovered I really liked some items on my beneficial list that I had never tried before.  

You’ll find you’ll become more attune to your bodies signals the less avoids you eat.  The brain gets tired of warning you not to eat something when you ignore it so it gives up until the damage is so overwhelming it screams at you.

Start with the foods, just as you have.  Maybe focus a bit more on getting the avoids out so the gut can normalize faster.  The body will use the nutrients in the foods you eat to heal the body on its priority schedule.  

If you can tell what is healing or needs to heal, you can look at the protocol list for that or related issue and take one or some of those listed to attempt to assist.  Too much of a good thing is harmful as well, though, so don't overdo it.

First determine your bloodtype for sure. That might avoid having it tested. We've had people on the board for over a year that thought they were O when they were really A. They my advice is for every avoid that you stop taking add a beneficial that you don't normally(or have ever)eat.

It would be good to get your Secretor test so that you can fine-tune your diet.  That way, you'll know that each food is specifically right for you.

And to help you along, I really like the LR4YT book because it clearly guides you in either the Secretor or Non-Secretor food lists, along with lifestyle and supplement recommendations.
Really, the supplements are not as important as getting grounded in eating right.  They can come later.  Detox will happen naturally when you stop putting things in your stomach that don't belong there.

It can't hurt to start the BTD vitamins now, even before you've finished changing your diet. You probably need the vitamins even more right now, as your diet is still "less than perfect."

Remember that what you do eat is just as important than what you don't eat. Start by focusing on eating good quality protein and veggies.  Try to eat as many "beneficial" foods as possible, but don't worry about eating "avoid" fruits or vegetables right now. For most type O individuals, cucumbers are way less toxic than wheat, potatoes, or corn.

After you've filled up on meat and veggies, you'll have less room for sugary or starchy foods. While it's best to get your carbs from compliant sources like brown rice, quinoa, and starchy vegetables, it's still better to have one slice of wheat bread than it is to have 4 slices. And it will be easier to cut out wheat once it's stopped being a staple.

So, start by eating lots of good foods, while cutting back on the "avoid" foods. Prepare compliant foods whenever possible, but don't stress out about the "avoid" foods at restaurants, friends' homes, or even using up what's already in your house.
