If the O Gatherer is following the Genotype book, Lamb is a Diamond and Beef is Neutral.

This would clarify/fine tune this, it is actually perfect for me, as Lamb makes me very happy, while Beef doesn't make me particularly happy.

There are no Neutral lists in my Genotype book though... (first edition 2007) ???

Now I think that because I didn't read the book thoroughly I may have "overlooked" a rule concerning the above.

I saw this rule repeatedly in the forums: If a food does not appear in the Superfood list nor in the Avoid list, consider it Neutral. According to this, Beef, an O staple food, is not in the Gatherer's Superfoods list nor in the Avoids, therefore it is Neutral....

I don't think it is written in the book, but it makes sense logically that if the food is shown for some type that it was rated for all types in this diet system.  Therefore, if it isn't in a Superfood or Avoid list for a specific Genotype, it is a Neutral for that type.
  
For foods that are not shown for any Genotype, it isn't as assured, but if the food was rated for BTD, then I assume the food was rated for GTD...

I do like that SWAMI provides the 3 lists so there isn't as much guesswork/research, though...

How interesting, Yaeli, that lamb makes you feel happy, but not beef. On my Swami, lamb is a diamond and beef a beneficial. However, beef has almost an immediate positive effect on me, physically, mentally and emotionally, whereas I cannot discern the same impact from lamb.

A lot of O's say that beef is the 'feel good' meat for them.  For me, it's always been lamb, but then, I'm not an O.

Yes my local grocery store started carrying locally grown goat and lamb. At $54 for a leg it's going to have to be a very special occasion though. Actually their "local" is over 100 miles away and I know a goat and lamb farmer onl;y 40 miles away.

This makes me think... Beef does strengthen me very much - Thank God! I usually eat beef a lot more than lamb, because lamb takes more time to prepare, i.e. to remove the fat. Also, beef is the food that I remember most from Dr. D's books as O typical protein. I wasn't aware at all that beef is neutral for gatherers, until Victoria told me! Now that I feel stronger, I consider stop eating beef for a while and just enjoy myself with lamb. Why shouldn't I feel happy all the time?    This was the reason I asked my question. Beef and lamb are both diamonds in my swami, so I told myself, go figure. Perhaps I feel about lamb so good because I don't have it frequently enough? (I doubt it.) I just have to try and see what "transpires".

Both seem to be highly beneficial for this O Gatherer of nonnie persuasion.  Look away, XYs, as I'm about to talk about a female thaaaaang (nothing too shocking to the system, though   ) :  I notice that before and during my period, BEEF seems to be particularly good for me.  I think I need the iron at that time.  Other times, though, both lamb and beef are about equally nourishing for me, I would say.  To be honest, I think I prefer beef, but lamb is also, as the British say, "a little bit of all right."
