Well.....I would say there were things in GTD that showed up on my swami that didn't do a thing for me even if I tried eating with confidence: rabbit, for example. Nice and lean but left me feeling malnourished. Today when I look at "tomato juice", for example, and know it means taking the fresh style instead of the canned style, then see the actual tomato as a "black dot"......ehhhh......there's stuff I can do without. I didn't need it on the BTD and still don't need it.Cassava, also, now listed as a neutral on swami because of genotype, but in actual practise mades me very sick afterwards!!!

I would say I can stretch the envelope further towards BTD once more when I do strict food combining rules. BTD also lowered my blood pressure to a normal level before I could ever get a personal swami report. I don't think I could do a straight GTD with no swami, practising  food combining rules and still get the full benefits of the GTD.

I do better on Swami or GTD basically because they remove the item that was hindering my progress in BTD: gluten.

Other than gluten, my BTD, GTD, and Swamy are basically the same.

Thanks, Victoria!

I had a wonderful conversation with Kate and this coming Friday, I'll be seeing her to get my SWAMI testing.

Will I be an Explorer, Hunter...Gatherer?  I'm excited to know!  In the meantime, thanks again to you and everyone here.  I would have not known what SWAMI was without this forum!

I think Spring's got it.

Just be as compliant as you can on the BTD.  But always pay attention to which allowable foods really don't make you feel good or have any bad symptoms; eliminating them as you go forward.

When you finally can get your SWAMI, I'll bet you will be pleasantly surprised at how 'right' you were eating under the guidelines of the BTD.

I've done the best with SWAMI.  I like it best because it has allowed me to bring back into my Beneficial/Diamond column many foods that I LIKE.  Yes, of course, there are some foods that you will see that will moved to Restricted or Avoid, but chances are if you pay attention to your body under the BTD, you will not be too surprised.  For example, under SWAMI, lamb is a Beneficial!  It's so nice to have a solid red meat that I can eat weekly!  During my 14 + years under BTD and GTD I never considered trying it but craved meat every so often.

Taxman, that's great that you're going to be able to see Kate.  Your Swami options will be Nomad,  Gatherer, or Explorer.  It's wonderful when it's individualized just for you and any issues you may have.  I'm sure you'll let us all know what comes of your appointment.
