Hello all, I am new to following this diet (started a few days ago). I am a blood type O. I was wondering if anyone has lost weight (and how much) since you started following the Blood Type Diet. I have weight to lose and would like some motivation/inspiration from fellow BTD followers! |

I've lost 12 kilos (from 75 down to 63), in about less than a year.

I lost 20 pounds and feel so much better. I have finally found the causes to skin problems that I had. It's amazing that my avoid foods do really make me sick. |

Well, I've lost 24 pounds since november, which is when I finally went in head first following the BTD's dietary suggestions. I never incorporated the exercise portion of the book because our occupation is very physical. Although I seem to have reacheed ssome sort of momentary plateau (I hope), I tried on a dress I wore to a funeral 3 years ago when I first started eliminating items from my diet and it was about 6 inches too big around my waist. I need to lose another 30 lbs and I just completed the secretor test. Can't wait to get the results. |

Welcome ToHimIPray!
Congrats on the weight loss! It's very common to plateau after a significant weight loss- sometimes the body just needs to catch up, work on healing other organs, or detox some junk that was released in the fat- then weight loss can resume. Other times, you've lost all you can with the changes already made, and you need to tweak things to lose more weight. That may mean adding exercise, reducing portions, or fine-tuning the food choices. There could be something still in your diet that's inhibiting further weight loss. |

Yes. In one way, too much (170 to 135 lbs., and as low as 120 at one point). On the other hand, it was weight in water retention, inflammation, fat, and toxins. |

Don't weigh myself ever, Tigrrress. But went from a tight size 10 to wearable size 12 to size 8 within the first half of the first year if I remember correctly.
Side note: Went down to size 6 on GenoType diet and now (on SWAMI) I've reduced to a size 4. Never tried to lose. It just happens! |

A total of 35 pounds, in stages, over a 13 year period. From a size 12 to a 6 or 8, depending on the brand.
I never tried to lose weight or count calories. |

Seems like I'm the only one who has gained weight. I gained about 15 lbs since I started with SWAMI. Perhaps I was underweight back then, after having lost a great deal of muscles and fat during my half-year vegan experiment. I looked like a model back then, but was also quite frail. I think SWAMI has helped adjust my weight to a more optimum level for my age and size. |

I think, in truth, Dr. D has not put this out as a weight-loss program, but a weight normalizing program. It's just that more people seem to struggle with their weight creeping up that it has come to appear as a weight loss diet. |

96 lbs on the GenoType Diet. Also lost weight on the BTD before that, but yo-yo'ed (I still had a lot to learn, which I could only do by falling flat on my face a few times, and a few missing pieces of the puzzle to acquire, which the GTD provided), and I credit the BTD with giving me the strong foundation of knowledge I needed to have the success I've had with the GTD. I say I'm on the GTD but really the BTD is the "wind beneath its wings". You are in the right place. There is no diet as exquisitely customized as Dr. D's diet plans are. It takes a little patience to get the orchestra in tune and practice to get it to produce beautiful music, but have faith. It will happen. And you'll know you are on the right track from how the diet makes you feel. |
