Dates are good for 'hunter GT' if I remember, but in one of Dr D's books, dates are not good for type O 'nonnies'. I wonder if Dr D means the drier dates from middle east which are covered with some type of poly oil (perhaps sunflower or other non compliant oil). I love the fresher USA medjool dates, and hope to still eat them (not every day) as trying to keep my blood sugar stable these day, but sometimes when combined with other foods, a low allergy cake or a meal. (not able to do Swami yet). |

You need to pick which plan you are going to follow. It is up to you to pick which plan to follow, but you don't want to "mix and match". The Eat Right and Live Right 4Your Type Diets just use ABO type and Secretor status. It focuses on making the body fit the genes. The ratings for this plan are online: http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htmThe Genotype Diet expands to use some additional gene information and also some measurements that represent in-utero activity. This diet focuses on changing the genes to reduce negative activity and expand positive type responses. SWAMI expands to using additional measurements and medical histories to provide an even more complete diet just for you. Due to the more complete information, SWAMI works better to make the genes fit the body and reduce the possibility of illness. |

Dates rate okay for me in all the diets. If non compliant oils coated the dates used for the rating, I presume dates would not be okay for me to eat. |

We get a variety of dates from Hadley orchards in our soCal low desert city of Cabazon..near Palm Springs...over the mountain from me. Right now I have medjool in my pantry and they are very sweet and moist. No oils or additives. My DH is an O hunter and sometimes he eats one or two after dinner for a sweet treat.....maybe once a month...no problems. |

Your husband needs to decide which food list he's following.
If he's following the Hunter plan, then dates are allowed. If he's following the O nonnie plan, they're not allowed. If he gets a personalized SWAMI, then dates may end up being an avoid, black dot, neutral, beneficial, or diamond, depending on all the factors that SWAMI computes. |

thankyou ABJoe (and others too) for your reply/s, I think if I was a healthy 'hunter' then I'd follow that one, but with inefficient digestive function/poor pancreas strength, I'm inclined to follow Type O nonnie, fish is definitely easier for me to digest. That is what I do best on right now, fish, veg, soups, fruit, some nuts (mostly soaked). quick reply for now, will think about it more. regards. |

If your kitchen is very warm, the ferments might culture in less time than the recipe recommends- and can lead to mold more quickly as well. Make sure you use enough salt, and check on them twice a day instead of once a day. Move to the fridge at the first sign of "I think this might be done now." |
