So, I am slowly recovering my foot injury. My achilles tendonitis is a little better, but my ankle/foot is still sore from over compensating... anyhow, I am back to hot yoga and some weight training.
I want some thoughts.. it appears that the pain gets worse when I have sugar ( even fruit) ?? Could this be true? When I stick to low carb then it feels better... I dont know why this is and I am searching for an answer.

sugar is bad you know that have you tried the assisted exercise I recommended before. have you looked into intermittent claudification, and read the cardio book of Dr D. might be an idea, I got a kindle version. I personally don't rate the modern hot yoga, but I think I told you that before. if pain get s worse when eating sugar then you obsequiously have a sugar problem sounds very similar to mine. how much sugar are you eating and exactly what type give you the pain. amounts please. the recommended amount of sugar one (one size fits all ) is 5 teaspoons I read recently. I have loads more than that but am cutting down big time. suspect I am secretly diabetic:0 |

I am still way below norm. Maybe one fruit a day and not talking about any other sugar. Sorry, but I have to respectfully disagree with you, I dont think sugar {"bad"... if it is fruit. In moderation... of course. I did try the exercises and they are working for me ty for this. Also, I did not know Dr.D had a cardio book, neat! I should look into that. Pain might be that I am not eating enough... today I only had a small portion of veg in the am and then greens for lunch and a pear about 2 hours later. No protein.. money is tight. |

Pain is always more intense when I don't eat enough... Try to find a way to get sufficient nutrient intake to meet your needs. The body will never get out of starvation mode with this little intake. |

There are O's that have done vegetarian for several years before they got really sick and realized that they needed meat... Short term may be OK, but generally not long term - but there may be an exception or two in the world... |

if the fruit is a high proportion of your food intake, I am not so sure that it will be good for you . I should point out that by sugar I really mean white sugar of any kind. but in some case like my partner and daughter, very little fruit is needed before issue start to surface, albeit that it is generally brought on by other sugar like "sweets" they are only humane, unlike myself who is mortal, of course or so you would think looking at how much sweets I used to even sometime still do rate. |

You ate a pear and nothing else for that snack? I bet you would have had much less problem with the pear if you'd had it with a hard boiled egg or a handful of nuts. For many Os, fruit needs to be eaten WITH protein or it messes up blood sugar. I've heard of people having fruit first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach, but then they eat protein half an hour or an hour later. Fruit by itself for a mid-day snack isn't wise.
How do you do on beans? I personally only have beans WITH other protein, but it does allow me to feel full and satisfied with less animal protein when I have beans at the same meal. Even if beans were your only or your primary protein at a meal, it's better than doing without. Canned beans are very cheap and dried beans are even cheaper (though require more advanced planning to cook.)
You could cook up a large quantity of beans with a small amount of egg or poultry, and you could save grocery money while still allowing yourself protein at every meal. |

Hi Yes, today was a low protein day for sure. Dinner was a half cup of salad and a red pepper with some ground turkey in it... I went to a friends house for dinner, but maybe 2 tablespoons of ground turkey. Tomorrow will be better-- Seriously, I hope you are feeling better... I bet the cold weather doesnt help. Freezing here! TTYL |

I've noticed that my inflammation response to certain foods results in anything that can hurt, will. |

just got back from the doctor, plantar facittius. I am not sure if it was the extra weight ( five pounds) or just the overexercise with poor sneakers.
is it possible to gain weight from NOT eating enough protein and just fruits and vegetables?I always thought I would lose weight, hmm...maybe metabolism related |

I don't think that 5 extra pounds is enough to cause plantar fascitis. Exercising with bad sneakers could do it, and malnutrition could do it. It's most likely a combination. Instead of buying new sneakers, it may be more cost-effective to buy cushioned inserts for your old sneakers. This is the kind of product I've bought for my shoes, although I bought them in a local supermarket or Target (not online) and I'll buy the generic brand if it's available. http://www.drscholls.com/drscholls/products/TriComfortregOrthotics.jspa The name brand costs around $10, which is far less than a new pair of sneakers. When I had plantar fascitis, I found that this kind of insert helped reduce the pain a lot. I could feel it when the inserts wore out and needed replacement. It's certainly possible to gain weight from not eating enough food, or from not eating enough of certain nutrients (protein included.) Metabolism slows down when you don't eat enough, and your body holds onto every calorie. |

Hi Thanks Ruthie. Hopefully, the weight will fall off but I appreciate your support. I think it is more about not wearing the right shoes and malnutrition causing me to put pressure on my feet. Anyhow, I have orthotics in my shoes now, but they have holes in them ( sneakers not the inserts).. I have worn them down to nothing..!! Love my exercise. well, I am moving forward and just going to focus on health and I am sure the weight will be fine. Doctor said there is no reason why I cant start working out again once this is healed as long as i have good support! |

You might also want to check out thrift stores for "new" sneakers- you may find something in better shape than your current shoes. |
