My stomach finally growled today. It was a new experience for me and it felt good. I feel like my metabolism slowed down so much that I am never hungry and then I force myself to eat because I think i "should" be hungry.
I did a hot yoga class, then step. Had a red pepper and two egg whites when I came home, and lettuce.
Then, I brought a salad to WF to be around people and not eat alone.. hate this. I ended up eating some chicken thighs in oil, broc salad and about 2 oz of grill chicken. This was at 2:00.
Really??? It seems like I dont ever get hungry anymore. It is 3 hours later and my stomach is finally digesting.
Can anyone tell me how to keep my metabolism going and is there truth to we should eat every 3 hours??? I could go all day and not eat. One good thing about the vegan diet was that at least I felt hungry now and then. I wonder how many calories our bodies really need. |

To keep the metabolism running, the body can never be allowed to think that it won't get food. In other words, you have to keep it fed, even when you may not feel hungry. It is possible that you will initially gain weight when you are trying to establish a higher metabolism, as the body will still be in "starvation" mode - so putting everything extra into "storage". You have to trust the body that it will change modes and clean the fat out again once the metabolism kicks in... You also need to exercise, but I don't think you have a problem here... - unless it is the hot yoga which some have stated will damage the joints, etc... |

It sounds to me like going long periods of time without eating is not a good choice for you, Marjorie, because your appetite stops giving you normal signals for hunger. |

Ok, so now I really need to buckle down and make sure I eat a little something every three hours.. I think that is part of my problem with the budget and all. However, I need to focus on health and if it takes smaller portions and really making a plan to ensure I eat, I will do it. |

yes.. go to it.. you will not be sorry.. it takes determination, and you seem to have what it takes to make healthy changes. Small is better than not at all.. but the benefits are many.. long term. |
| When I see other peoples medicines schedule-I am happy to be here taking care of my health I only wish to drop weight more easily-life would be perfection Being 'here' creates understanding. BTD prevents damage from eating avoids. Thanks Dr D & your sups - all support and friendships |
