So, now I am concerned that I might be allergic to chicken. Today, I had a grill chick breast from wf and a 3 pieces of Goji berry crunch which said it was gluten free from the buld section.

Well, I was itchy eyes, stomach bloated and my head hurt. I have had the "energy crunch before". I noticed if I eat anything outside of my house, either I have major anxiety or I am not feeling well with chicken. This happended the other day when I had chicken also.

I feel like I have more energy than before when I was going raw, but on the other hand, I am frustrated about the blurry vision and not feeling well physically when I eat the meat.

Anyhow, looks like I am going to stick to the fish.

Anyone else have comments?

I'm biased against chicken due to lectin content bothering my B-ness...  I choose turkey for my poultry, but I mix in some lamb, beef liver and several different fish...

ok, I will get some turkey... definitely think something is not right when I eat chicken.

Aw, man, tonight I had some cod and veggies around 5 but I was still hungry, and totally gave in to eating two pears... I felt yucky afterwards, but at least it was a beneficial on my hunter profile.

Still, it was out of reluctance to start studying that I ate it. Tomorrow is a new day and new beginnning. I still cant figure out why I keep torturing myself and hurting my body by eating the fruit. Something is off here...

Money might be tight, but I highly recommend that you get a SWAMI. Some people just don't do as well on the "by the book GTD"...

It could be an additive to the chicken. Did you cook it yourself from raw chicken or was it precooked or prespiced? As far as the Goji berry crunch, glutein free doesn't mean corn free.

I did a swami and it says chicken is a beneficial for me. I need to look at the ingredients of the other stuff I ate that day.

I am 67 hunter... so I know I am suppose to eat alot more meat than I am getting.. working on it but a little hard with money!

It had black pepper on it, but I dont think that would make me so "fuzzy". It was precooked and I did not cook it.. just bought it at the counter at WF.

what about canola oil?

BTD says I can have it, but my swami says to avoid.

Are you getting enough to eat?  
Have you looked at the portion amounts and frequency recommendations compared to what you are eating?
I know you've stated that you haven't been eating enough meat, but is that all you are short on?  The meat can have an affect on how well you are thinking, but this seems like an overall energy shortage or that when you eat something beneficial that you are doing some cleaning that makes you feel yucky...

I've been wondering about chicken myself for quite a while because of how I feel after eating it. I'm super allergic to eggs and chicken feathers, but there may not be a connection with the meat itself. Still ...?

Good Point. Probably not. I usually have egg whites and veggies for breakfast, salad with fish for lunch and salad with veggies for dinner ( some protein). Maybe some nuts here and there. This would be fine if I was not LIVING However, I am working out 6 days a week... plus school seems to consume alot of calories ( the studying takes up energy).

I am not sure though,  maybe I am fooling myself and we really do not need to eat that much from the research I have been doing.

I gave up chicken and turkey last month (along with grapefruit and anything containing sulphites) and have never been better to be honest. I even increased my grains and am doing well. If your body is showing clear signs of intolerance I would eliminate it for the time being. I would get flushing, dermatitis and heart flutters eating the above mentioned but always thought it was because I had too many grains that day.

Interesting... and I do not do well on grains, so I think I am doomed for just vegetables with a little home cooked fish now and then.

I think you are going to need more animal protein and good fat than to just eat fish "now and then"...

Again, look at SWAMI and attempt to get the portions suggested.  You may need some probiotics for Type O to get you "working" well...

I need fats more than anything. I eat about 60 g protein, 30 g carbs from green veggies and the rest fats.I eat more fish than meats or poultry and more turkey than chicken. I seem to need almost exactly 60 g protein spread throughout the day into 5 or 6 small meals but right about the time I hit 60, I don't want any more. I use homemade mayo to dip veggies in and olive oil for 2 salads a day. My snacks are veggies dipped in the mayo or a few nuts/seeds. I'm at around 1300 cals. I walk briskly for 20 min in the am and after dinner, no hard core workouts. This combo keeps my blood sugar stable. Large meals, hard work outs, too much protein at one time all wack out my blood sugar. It's a pain but it works

Thanks. I definitely need more of something, and it could be the fats. What is your mayo recipe?
Do you ever eat fruit at all?

I think starting to prepare my small portions might work for me... I seem to be hungry every two-3 hours.. which can be annoying, but I have to listen to my body, right?

THanks.. I am not sure if I can afford it. I am barely making it now with my stipend and I am not even buying alot of meat. I did get some fish today ( canned salmon and tuna) so this should be ok for the week. I also bought eggs... now, that is exciting

Swami recommends like 9 portions of meat... it says I am 60% hunter, so I need to eat alot of it... to be "stable" and productive. I guess I will do the best I can and hope for the rest to fall into place. Cant stress too much because my doctoral program is stressful enough without adding food into the equation. Make sense?

Mayo recipe, over time I have greatly simplified it. So now it's just one egg and a half tsp sea salt. blend in blender about 20 sec until the egg is frothy and slowly drizzle a cup of olive oil in. done. you can add herbs or spices to it which I do occasionally but mostly it's just regular now.
Fruit, not so much. A bite here or there but in the begining of summer I was eating more berries and found fruit is not a great friend of mine. I just felt kind of off. I do like a bite or two of apple with almond butter but I don't buy fruit anymore so it's rare that I have it. I do prepare 2 salads and 3 romaine lettuce wraps with proteins and onions and mayo or olive oil and a container of broc, celery scallions and a radish or two every morning and put them in my tupperwares. Then they either come with me in a cooler or put on a plate to eat at home but for the most part, my days worth of food is made ready to eat all in the morning. I too find I am hungry often and have to eat regularly. I have tried numerous times to change that but it just makes me feel unbalanced. This system works for me or I am like you, stressing all the time, obsessing, etc. Now I try to do everything as simply as possible. I also pkg meats/poulty in serving sized baggies and just defrost what I need for the day in cold water. Alot of my meals are cold but dinner is usually some cooked fish and a salad. I precook and freeze alot. I even precook lamb chops, freeze, then defrost and throw on a salad. There was a time I would have thought cold lamb was gross but now I just eat the right foods and don't worry about preperation. hot/cold/whatever.  Sounds to me like you need more fat, especially if you are low on protein. Low carb, moderate protein and the rest healthy fat. That's my ticket. Healthy fat is a major important part of my diet. Keeps the weight off and the energy on.

Thanks for the reply. I do not even have olive oil in the house, I need to get some. I usually just add to my salads if I get something at wf or the Willy co-op. I like the idea of keeping it simple, less stress! Sounds like you have your plan all set. I was once like this, however, I slacked lately. I do think I eat too many peppers, though. It might make me in alkaline state which is not good for me, in general. I will cut back on them.

I wish I had some yearning for red meat, but right now, I just dont. I also got rid of my george foreman, so I would have to cook the meat in my skillet, and it just never tastes good to me. I actually prefer any meat that I eat completely dry... almost crispy. Is that weird or what?

I will get EVO and then I will make a little dressing... hopefully I can do it without a blender, since I do not have that either. AND..... I do not own a microwave, so I need to make this lifestyle fit according to my resources as well.

Question: any thoughts on sweet potatoes? I dont think they are my fav.

This am I had a piece of foccacia flax bread ( I made it in the oven using one egg, and a tablespoon of left over evo), 2 egg whites. My bread was a big piece, but it is Sunday and I have not had that in forever!! Off to hot yoga, and then cardio kickboxing before I study.

I used to make homemade mayo by hand...it's possible, but takes a lot of forearm strength...Google it, it's been a long, long time since I made it that way.

Drea is right, it can be done by hand but it's hard work, . You should eat some healthy fats with your veggies as the nutrients in veggies are fat soluable. You won't be utilizing the nutrients without some fat. I don't mean GOB but a reasonable amount. I just use extra virgin oil and salt and herbs as my salad dressings, nothing fancy but they taste great. Actually, that's by far the way I prefer it.

Sweet potato- puts me to sleep. Love the flavor and all that you can do with them but out go my lights. I also don't eat any starch due to BS issues, and, they never agreed with me anyway. Veggies, all kinds of lean protein and olive oil are the major staples in my diet. An occasional bite of this that or the other but it seems to be the same thing day in and day out with the variety being most definately in the proteins. I always have romaine spinach purple onion artichoke celery brocolli carrot asparagus here and there, mayo, olive oil and a large variety of herbs. All my SWAMI avoid proteins I don't like anyway so I juat eat what I feel like. I don't eat red meats often and not in large quantities but I do need it a few times a week ( I do 2 oz at a time, so like 6 oz a week) lamb more than beef but I client gave me a rather large venison steak which I am very much looking forward to about 6 meals out of it. haha.

I used to eat a ton of peppers for years and now gained an intolerance to them, so no more. They were a great snack.

I also make a lot of soup and freeze. I use ground grass fed beef, saute and get as much fat off as possible and add an ounce or two to eat bowl then lots of veggies and broth. I used to crave burgers but not anymore. I find the saturated fat to be too heavy, hence the removal. Most of my fat is vegetable/ nut fat

One of the best "appliances" I own (and the most versatile) is the Cuisinart Immersion Blender stick. I got mine at Costco, but I've seen them at Target, as well.

I use it to puree soups in the pot, as well as to make mayo. I also use it to make almond butter milk. Best $30 I've spent.

I like sweet potatoes any way I've ever eaten them, except with a topping of marshmallows...

I cook them in soup or stew, bake them whole, cut them up like fries or rounds and bake with a little oil...  I top baked sweet potatoes either complimenting the sweet or contrasting with some savory flavors.  Sweet - ghee, cinnamon, cardamom, etc...  Savory - plain yogurt, garlic, onion tops or chives, curry spices, etc...
