Why do I feel better eat raw veggies versus cooked? In fact, I do not even like the taste of anything that is not cold right now???

Weird.. but I have read there are many benefits in raw vegetables versus cooked. Does anyone have any insight or similar experience?

There are enzymes in raw foods that are purported to be inactivated by the cooking process.  It is possible that you need some of these enzymes, so raw foods are appealing to you now.

Thank you for replying. I will just listen to what my body is asking for at each moment before I eat anything.

Interestingly enough, I've had the opposite experience this week. I've been having salads for lunch since the summertime- lots of leafy greens, plus a protein such as fish or poultry, plus a few other vegetables and an olive oil/lemon juice dressing. For the past few weeks, these salads have NOT satisfied me, and I was constantly hungry all afternoon. Some days I'd just be cranky all day, and other days I'd give in and eat foods I shouldn't, or at least more food than I should.

The other day, I didn't have any washed lettuce in the house but I did have cooked food (meat and veggies) from the previous night's dinner. So I ate that, figuring I'd have a salad a little while later. But it kept me full! I'm now purposely eating cooked foods for all meals, at least until  that stops feeling good to me.

Certain foods are better cooked - others raw.
Many foods are okay either way but taste better one way than the other.
So some of this is personal taste.

I tend to eat more raw foods in the warmer months, and more cooked foods in the cooler months. That didn't use to be the case when I lived in Northern CA, where there weren't true "seasons", but since I've been in CO and NM, it is.

It is not my responsibility to convince anyone of anything.
