I started the blood type diet about a month ago and have been feeling great. I recently got the results back to my secretor test and I am now on the A-nonsecretor BTD. Before I had to stay away from tomatoes and peppers, now it says that they are neutral... BUT... I had tomatoes and I got so bloated and felt very sick. Then I recently tried eating green peppers and I feel a little bloated and sick again. Anyone else an A-nonsecretor and still get sick on tomatoes or peppers? |

Peppers and tomatoes are an avoid for me on my SWAMI. They are nightshade vegetables and people with inflammatory issues (including myself) should avoid them completely.
Go with your gut instinct (pardon the pun) and don't eat them if they appear problematic. It isn't uncommon to have an "allowed" food feel disagreeable to a person, just like certain avoid foods can appear to be agreeable, though I would be more cautious about eating avoids on a regular basis. |

Yes. It is not unusual that people are sensitive to nightshades. Search for posts made by Ribbit for examples of an A nonsecretor that is particularly sensitive to peppers. |

You don't have to invest in a SWAMI right now if you don't want to. You tried eating tomatoes and peppers and found that they don't agree with you. So don't eat them.
We're all unique individuals, and what works for one may not work for another. Even the blood type diet, with secretor status variations, isn't a "perfect fit" for each and every individual. We all need to tweak things a little based on how our bodies respond to each different food, even if the food list says a food should be OK for us. |

Hi Lola, I am glad you stopped by. Yes, you are right! I forgot to tell her that I am GT3 Teacher, sorry about that. Hi badabing, please read this post ( I mean from Kumar and everyone else as well ) because it was very interested for me. So after I read his suggestion, make me want to have Swami so much. I belive that you will have a lot of benefit of Swami and more choice. http://www.dadamo.com/cgi-bin/Blah/Blah.pl?m-1342075830/s-5/#num5 |

Thanks for all your replies! As far as trying another diet like the SWAMI, I think for now I am sticking to the blood type diet because it has really worked well for me and I am just getting used to it all. After reading a bunch of stuff online about nightshades, I think I may actually have a nightshade allergy. My body immediately reacted to tomatoes and peppers and my skin develops an itchy rash. I can tell when restaurants use butter or put pepper in my food because my skin reacts. I get a rash from dairy and I guess from nightshades too. I have a really sensitive digestive system because I have Celiac Disease too. |
