Can someone help me to see why, on my swami, grapes are beneficial, grape juice is a diamond, and raisins are a black dot? |

Hard to know for your particular SWAMI.
Some issues: Higher sugar concentration in raisins than in grapes Mold problems with raisins |
| MIfHI I follow a SWAMI diet. |

I'm gleaning that perhaps it is a concentrated sugar issue since plums are a diamond and prunes (dried plums) are a neutral. Interesting. Fascinating. Really. |

Part of it is also because grapes and raisins are being compared to other fruits, and grape juice is being compared to other beverages, and there's a shorter list of juices than whole/dried fruits. |

Same issue for me, but 1 or 2 prunes have the same sugar as 1or 2 plums, no? I assumed it was the preservatives in prunes. |

There is always that potential mold issue with dried fruits. |

The preservatives in dried fruits are NOT factored into SWAMI. I think the assumption is that you should always avoid the preservatives, and the ratings refer to the natural, preservative-free versions of the dried fruits. I can find dried prunes at Trader Joe's that don't have any additives, although the ones in the supermarket have chemicals added. |
