So a while back I went to the doc to have my bloodwork done and they concluded I had a bladder infection. Got antibiotic, got better, it came back, got some other medication to help balance the bacteria in my bladder, got better, it came back. So I figured it was my destiny to get op 20 times per night to go the bathroom.
However, in august I took two weeks of from work and when I am at home I don't drink a lot of coffee. One, maybe two cups per day. So I noticed that after a week, I was sleeping almost through the night and only getting up once. By the end of the second week, it got even better. So on the next monday I go to work and drink my usual amount of coffee, like 4 to 5 cups. That monday night I was back to getting up 20 times per night...
The next day I only had two cups of coffee at work and I've been doing that for the last two weeks. And indeed I now sleep through the night (sometimes with only 1 wake up).
Apparantly coffee causes my bladder to be overactive. I never thought that the coffee was the culprit since it's a diamond on my Swami. |

Coffee makes me pee, urinate, what have you...goes right in and right out, esp when i drink water after. I am still up in the air that coffee is beneficial for me, as an A, though it is an avoid for explorers. I drink it nearly every day more decaf than reg though |

Too much of anything (even diamonds) can be hard on the body. For me, 2 cups a day is the maximum I can drink without feeling over stimulated (both physically and mentally). It's also a diamond on my swami. |

I have similar issue except I'm not a nonnie, and hydrogen test is 0, none at all.
Warriors don't have overgrowth problems very often for a few reasons I've sort of figured out.
I might ask if you get enough Vitamin A. But I'll also point out that coffee will do it to anyone to a certain degree. |

Besides my B supplement I don't take any extra vitamins, but I eat a large variety of fruit en veggies so I think I get enough vitamins. |

I like this explaination. Coffee is one of those things that just -irritates- my bladder. Almost an allergy-like response. Amazone, what meds might be causing this? In a few weeks, I'll be trying to persuade my PCP to drop my last 3 remaining. |

I think that Dr. D only recommends one or two small cups even for those who have it as a Superfood. |

Ha i drink 24 oz coffee's from the gas station! 2/3 decaf and 1/3 reg, or on special days, 1/2 and 1/2. Sometimes all decaf.
I know my old professor and my friends dad drinks coffee am and pm all day, not sure of their blood types though.
Small cups are a tease to me!! |

Does coffee help bacterial overgrowth? I had at one time an issue where when i ate sunflower seeds, the spit shells would soon develop a green mold type stuff that would grow on it. Now this does not happen at all even when the shells spit have sat overnight. I think this was some type of imbalance of growth or something, but never thought too much of it till learning this stuff. I think this was related to a type of acid reflux in the throat i struggled with and coffee does not seem to give me acid reflux problems at all now. Still up in air about coffee but i drink it. But this shows that i do not think excess stomach acid itself was a cause but an effect of something else. I could be a teacher but don't get infections and never had any trouble with stomach itself or anything. Still have tonsils. Also my fingerprints are all nomad type loops except for two rings on my right thumb and ring finger. |

This is a real heads up, been having this problem for quite awhile and also started drinking black coffee quite awhile ago, again. Also, diet pop/soda, not caffeine free, and water. I am always thirsty, I always empty out many times throughout the day and night, but just this week ran out of diuretics, and gained 16 lbs in four days.
What do people do when their mouth is so dry/lips are so dry it sticks together or words won't come out right, because everything is dry. Before the weight gain this week, I have been feeling great! |

I find that water is one of the only beverages that is truly thirst quenching. The next best thing (for me) is iced tea (unsweetened). Sometimes, I'll just add an herbal tea bag to a big jar of water, and let it "flavor" the water. Lemon and a bit of sea salt added to water (room temp) is also thirst-quenching... |

My most likely remedy would be drink some water, second choice would be green tea. |

Water with a piece of ginger in it. Great for when you are exercising as well. |

For years I drank a lot of coffee, just loved it! Never had a bladder infection until I went into menopause. From then on, every time I drank a few cups of coffee I would get a bladder infection. That has been very hard news for me to bear but I forced myself to convert to tea. It took years for me to stop yearning for coffee but now I can say I look forward to my first mug of tea to begin the day. |

If Dr D would have said this in his books.. (coffee for O;s is avoid) I would have had a much better understanding of MAYBE why I can not have coffee beans.. Interesting finding.. thanks it helps me in my storage bin of background information.. |
