I am 45 and a Type A.

I have suffered from Endometriosis for the last 10 years.   My doctor has me on a low dose birth control pill.   It works, but I still get some cramps at my time of month, but am gratefully skipping a few cycles.  I am worried of the long-term result of just taking hormone pills like this.

My mother did not go into menopause until in her 60's...15+ years of more pain/hormone treatments.   Surgery really isn't a long-term solution unless I decide on surgical menopauase and that is not a good option, even though uterine and breast cancer run in my family.  Endometriosis is actually an auto-immune disease and I produce too much estrogen.

I have been on this diet for a few months, but meat free and mostly dairy free for about two years.  I am not sure the affect of soy on my hormones.  Can anyone else let me know if the Type A diet needs any modifications for this condition, or can help this condition or know of a different way of dealing with the imbalance?

So if you produce too much estrogen why doesn't your doctor put you on progesterone to counteract the estrogen?

Being compliant will work in the long run.
I have also heard that fasting is good for this particularly (I know it is good for many other things, too.). Things slough off when fasting.

There are progesterone creams on the market.

Stick with this forum. You will get great support & maybe make good friends!

My late 40s were a good time for me.  I started eating better & walking more in my 30s & got more active with more sunlight, etc.  My periods were more normal in my 40s & I had an easy menopause. So diet is very important.
This reminds me that blood sugar is important in this. Avoid sweets, eat more often if you are comfortable with that, & exercise for your type.

I have nothing to add but am certain that prolonged eating according to your BTD will give the body strength and the calm intestinal wise that it then can help to heal the insides of you.. Not to mention not eating avoids, some of which might be cancer causes, will help to protect you, and even if you were to get it, fighting it will be a whole lot easier when you start out healthy.

The one ingredient I would add is doing Positive thinking and affirmation of health and wellness.  Believe systems are powerful connections to illness and health.

I recently had a experience with someone who insists on going 'off' every so often (feeling self pity without working with her mind) and I finally after the 4th time saw the start of yet another such episode, and I decided to stop it mid sentence.. I walked away, and did not engage..

I needed to just let it be, no matter what I would have liked to say, and let her stew in her own misery.. a hard thing for me to do, I am a fixer, but in the end it worked.. MOST important was that: I SAVED ME from aggrevation... and it helped her too.

That kind of readjusting your own thinking in the same way, stopping circular thinking, will go a long way for your body to feel the calm... inside and in the intestines, the hormone flows and age adjustments.. all the bast..

Being here is invaluable, but not enough. We need ALL the Doctors. I needed them for a very small cancer spot-I could never feel!!! Please do your mammograms! Doing so saved me from cancer later on. I am grateful! Thanks for learning from my experience! I was lucky! I wish the same for YOU!

Veggie--- might want to look deeper and get a secretor test and a SWAMI. Your age is important for us to know, maybe you want to add it to your avatar.

Using food as medicine is a great plan.

You can read about soy here. But the SWAMI will help you know if it is good for you or not.

You are in the right place .

Any chance you are close to University of Bridgeport-- and can see Dr. D'Adamo there?
