I been using Vegenaise to make salads and such. Is it okay for ABs to have that even though they have a little bit of Vinegar in it? It's almost on the bottom of the Ingredient list.

This is a personal decision...

The rating says avoid for vinegar, so for 100% compliance, it is not allowed.

The decision comes when you decide how much avoid you are going to allow.

So do you have any suggestions what to use for Mayonnaise? The LR4YT said not to jump into a new lifestyle but to ease in. After all, I am trying to get to 100% compliance, but ease into it like the book suggests.

I've never liked mayonnaise, even before BTD.  For many items I would add oil (olive or walnut usually)  mustard powder brings out flavor, and paprika. I just add spices and herbs for most things.

With foods like Salmon or tuna I would use the juice that was in the can for the liquid, than the spices.

Regular European style like I learned in school.Okay

With Lemon instead of Vinegar.Like in school
I don't have a blender. I have a ninja, which does not have an opening to drizzle it through. Do you think on of those Immersion Blender would do it or a attachment to make whipping cream?

I just made my first batch of homemade mayonnaise that didn't involve me hand-whisking, but instead, I used my immersion blender. I put all the ingredients in a qt glass canning jar and blended everything together (no drizzling oil). It really only took 15 seconds!

Look here for the recipe I followed...Hellmanns mayo recipe. The ingredients aren't as important as the method.

I mad another batch this morning, tweaking the ingredients slightly, but the whole thing was still 15 seconds to mayo.

I don't need to use vinegar, right? ABs are not allowed Vinegar and Pepper is an avoid as well and I don't use Rapeseed Oil. I prefer Olive oil. DO you think that would work? Do I have to put that much salt into it or can I leave salt out altogether? My Husband is diabetic and not supposed to have a lot of sodium in his diet. I guess 25 mg of sodium is not going to be an issue. Dry mustard, hmm need to check if I have any any.

No, I don't use vinegar, either. Just sub lemon juice, but not too much (as I did the first go-round...too lemony). I've been told that macadamia oil is fabulous in mayo, but I use canola oil since it's a neutral, and I'm afraid evoo might taste too olive-y for my taste buds. But many people use olive oil, so go ahead! Others have used grape seed oil (it's a toxin on my swami, so I won't use it) with good success.

You can add or subtract whatever spices you like; I think the key here is some sort of acid (lemon juice or vinegar), eggs (or just the yolks as some prefer), and oil. The rest is icing.

I have macadamia oil, maybe I can make it half olive half macadamia and maybe the next batch I can use Grape Seed Oil.I guess I will have to use the Avocado and Sunflower oils for my hubby who is not on the BTD plan.

A question. If a skin care product has things like coconut oils or any fragrancing with mango etc, both of which are dietary avoids, can we us it topically or should I stay away from those in creams, shampoos and body washes as well?

It really depends. Some folks are highly sensitive and choose not to put any avoids on their bodies, and others, like me, can tolerate avoids on the skin, but not in the gut. My opinion, of course.
