been gluten free, dairy free for more than 6 months, and blood type compliant for a little over 4 months, and still have terrible keratosis pillars! I heard that it's related to food intolerances, and allergies (which I never show any signs of except my skin and with bananas), and many people have said after cutting out just wheat and dairy it's gone. I am perfectly compliant, and STILL I'm plagued by this curse! I am going to stop eating bananas, maybe I have an intolerance to them, eventhough I am an O...It's just rediculous, If I can't even eat beneficial food, is everything I eat harming my system? I am feeling so hopeless again. I get so many vitamins an minerals, probiotics, I'm in college where everyone drinks to death and have nice skin, it's not fair! I don't drink, don't smoke, eat so healthy...awful skin. HATE THIS!
I'm just going to become intolerant to everything.
First off, get over your attitude. Do you really care what the next person has - more money, better body, nicer hair, better skin? That's going to affect your your psyche as much as diet. I have many ailments and conditions too. Focus and keep at it. My kids have KP and my nutritionist suggested regular intake of coconut oil and up the vitamin A. All of them have nice smooth skin now. My 12 yr old has had it all over his body for as long as I can remember because I remember bathing him with the bumps all over and I thought they were body hairs was coming in. Myself, I still can have an acne flare up with dermatitis. I have started using Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap and I absolutely love it. I then apply coconut oil and let it set it and where there is irritation I put some Penatin on it (diaper rash cream). It is 90 percent clear. What I do now to test foods is keep a very safe diet for a few days and then test one food. This week I did grapefruit and it's a no go for me despite what anyone or anything says (Hunter SWAMI and IgG testing). Trust me, I eat healthier than anyone, no drinking, no smoking, hardcore fitness level, etc. and still have flares of arthritis, dermatitis, acne, psoriasis but I am doing the best I can, feel good and am happy with myself. Try the Dr. Bronner's Bar soap it's very affordable and does a great job getting rid of the bacteria on the face.

We all have some difficulty to get through. Yours happens to be your skin. The best you can do is stop the drama act and get on with utilizing the "tools" that are available to you. One of these days, you will realize that "the shift" is one of the least expensive, most helpful things you could utilize - and it is within your reach.

Could be heavy metals like mercury and lead messing with your body's enzymes.
Oh yeah, I have been gluten free and dairy free for months also and still have problems. Don't forget some things can be just as bad. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if corn, soy, potato and sulphites affect me more than gluten products but because they aren't out there being pushed out on how bad they are it feels like a "safe" cheat but it's not, end of story. It really is a difficult transition. Remember what is more important though - a bag of chips or your health. I really do love being on whole foods but I can't wait until it's all figured out - it's coming! And, if you pay attention to your body and not give up you'll get there. You do sound like me, extra sensitive with reactions, not fun but the way it is.
HATE THIS! I'm just going to become intolerant to everything.
I couldn't help but wonder, after reading your post, what else has been going on in your life lately. Has the condition gotten any worse? Has something happened that made you notice it more? Please take a look at your feelings and see if there is another reason that you are hating the way you look right now and feeling hopeless about it.
You looked very attractive in your picture to me!

When it comes to my skin, corn is the culprit. All are individuals. I understand it take 6months for your skin cells to replace themselves, so give up.

Vitamin D might be worth a try, especially since people in New York are likely deficient. Check out this video at ~42:30 for some interesting info about Vitamin D and skin conditions (psoriasis, in particular): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cq1t9WqOD-0

Great feedback here! You may also want to look into the Baiden mitten for exfoliation- there are a few YouTube vids and info on the website. I have one and it absolutely amazing! It doesn't feel rough or abrasive at all, but removes dead skin cells possibly better than anything out there. allowing for skin cells to renew.

She's going off to college for the first time- so either she's getting herself settled in at school or she's about to go in the next few days. That's a pretty big life change and is stressful for anybody! Nor is it particularly uncommon for teenagers to be worried about their appearance, especially when they're about to meet new people.
Also, trust me on this, not everybody at college smokes and drinks! I remember telling people what school I went to, and them responding "U of Delaware! Great party school!!!" and I was like "what party?" I never went to any frat parties, and attended a single "drinking party" (the kind of party where everybody just sits around and drinks and there's no other activities) and left after half an hour because I was bored. I studied, I did well in my classes, I hung out with friends (the ones who also studied and did well in their classes) and attended the occasional party with them- parties with talking and music and "themes" and alcohol was just one of many refreshments offered.
You'll settle in to school and find people you get along with. You'll make a lot of acquaintances and hopefully a few close friends, and nobody is really going to care how smooth your skin is. Try not to worry too much about it.

Will you tell us what you DO eat as an example of how your meals and snacks go? We may spot something you may be overlooking.
Not only is giving up avoids important, but eating the right amount and right frequency of the foods from all the food groups that your body needs in order to function at its' best.

I also have Keratosis Pilaris. I had it just on my thighs most of my life. It was not so bad but as I got older it got worse. Recently through my Nutritional Balancing regime I have noticed it is getting worse. In fact I now have some on the backs of my upper arms now. I believe it got worse because I am in the stage of dumping the Copper out of my body. I was told that most skin problems are Copper toxic related. That is at the cellular level..
What I can do is see if it goes away as I eliminate the copper. I don't know how long it will take as everyone is different, but I can certainly come back here and report back to confirm.
That is interesting re copper Candace. I have heard the buzz on using copper peptides recently...which is using copper peptides on skin in anti-aging formulations.

Yes, Honeybee... I actually used Copper peptides for several years, but I only used it on my face and upper chest. I never used it anywhere else, and my KP was/is on my legs since childhood.
I think the CP's could have contributed to my Adrenal Fatigue, but again I know I had that before. In fact it appears I was born with AF as my mother had it and copper toxicity.
