Two veins above and beside my right eye are protuberent again, and hurt, which they haven't done for a long time. The right side of my face hurts all the way down, like someone slapped me really hard and it didn't go away and my right eye hurts on the outer corner and is twitching, like it used to do when I drank too much caffeine. The sorest place is around and under my eye. I've never had the sore face thing nor the eye twitching and protuberant vein at the same time. The only thing I have done differently (new) for the past two days is take 3600 mcg of Biotin (product also contained a few low dose multi vitamins, MSM, DMAE, Horsetail, & ALA) and TSII, to help balance my thyroid. I didn't take my regular multi today. Could there possibly be a connection? I finally took 4 chewable baby aspirin this morn for the pain, but now it hurts again. I think I'll try rubbing some peppermint oil on my forehead, like I do when I feel a migraine coming on. Any thoughts?

My first suggestion is to lower the dose significantly. Sometimes it is difficult to tell whether the pain / symptoms are due to a sensitivity problem or to healing. Healing isn't always comfortable, so you may experience some pain, but my suggestion is to lower the dose to a level of tolerable symptoms.
ABJoe - OK. tomorrow I won't take as much and see what happens (or do without for a couple days). It could be something else in the pill, also, like the MSM, DMAE. or horsetail, which I have never taken before. I won't take the TSII for a couple days. I have some iodine drops instead. DoS - Everything points to Explorer, including my Swami. I usually have a lot of sinus issues when I eat something I'm allergic to, such as eggs, dairy, and gluten, or breathe certain inhalants, which I didn't do yesterday nor today. Gulfcoastguy - Yes, I had chicken pox, but there is no outward sign on my face ... just the two blue veins that run down my forehead and beside my eye. They are extremely sensitive (pain) to the touch today and last night. That has never affected the entire side of my face before, nor caused my eye to twitch.
Oh, and I forgot, I started taking some digestive enzymes, also, two days ago, containing Betaine HCL, ox bile extract, pancreatin, papain, lipase, bromelain, CereCalase ???, amylase, ginger, peppermint, and pepsin. Would any of those cause such a reaction? I've taken digestive enzymes before but not this brand, (a reputable company).
Sorry to hear about this face pain you are experiencing. It seems you are taking alot of supplements of course to try and keep things in order and working.
Stress can cause eye twitching. When I am under undue stress I get a yellowish bruise under my right eye. Strange. But it always goes away.
Easy does it. The body is an amazing organism and we all have to strive to be balanced mentally and physically. I'm doing that lately. I've eliminated quite a few unnecessary supplements from my daily intake.
Are you taking ARA6. It is amazing support for the immune system and I wouldn't do without it.
If you can, get away from your normal routine. Do something that seems like fun (even childlike if I dare say) and also maybe try stretching in the morning or go for a walk and commune with nature after dinner.
I'm also an A and these things do help even if you don't think they do at the time.
Biotin itself couldn't cause that reaction. The other stuff hard to say.
Maybe you should suggest shouldn't cause that reaction?! From what I have read I think in high enough doses it can cause reactions & we are all individuals "Large doses of biotin can cause an adverse reaction effect on the body. Excess amounts of biotin can cause skin rashes or skin infections, according to the website Health Scene Nutrition. You may experience itchy skin rashes or hives when you take more than the recommend dose of biotin. If your symptoms do not subside with a lower dose then discontinue the supplement and contact a medical professional."
There is also a connection with biotin & oxalates in the body?! Oxalates are crystals & can cause a prickly skin reaction... For some people it makes a dump of oxalates from the sytem more manageable and keeps the yeast in check... For others it can trigger dumping.
Thanks to all. If there is a connection between foods and migraines, like research indicates, then whatever I have taken in the last two days quite likely has caused those veins to swell and hence the pain, although never this bad before and never more than one day. I haven't had an actual migraine since I started Swami. This is mostly in, under, and on the right side of my right eye, extending down my face and cheeks. Those blue veins above and beside my eye have been swollen for two days, the same amount of time I have been taking the biotin, thyroid supplement, and digestive enzyme. I hope I can sleep tonight. I'll try not to lay on that side. Maybe take a couple more baby aspirin but no night time supplements tonight that I usually take. Joy - thank you for your anti-stress suggestions. And yes, that yellow bruise under the eye is strange.
What are you taking the DMAE for? I'm not familiar with it's effects.
I just did a quick google search and a few side effects are mentioned, and of course these are not going to always be present.
raising blood pressure muscle spasms in neck and shoulders tight neck and shoulders irritability headaches
One site suggested that DMAE not be taken daily. Another site recommended taking smaller doses to avoid side effects. I don't know what dose would be considered small but it's worth looking into.

With as many changes as you made in your supplement load, it is little wonder that you had issues. I like to introduce new things one at a time. I can monitor reaction and know what to attribute it to as well as have some target if I need to reduce the amount... When taking two or three new things, it is hard to know what I'm reacting to, or whether it is a combination issue, etc... Too many unknowns for accurate testing.
Very high levels of biotin would be extensively higher than 3600mcg. 3600mcg is not that much. The body naturally produces significant amounts to the point where even eating egg yolks may not have an affect (25,000mcg). The link states more than 10mg a day. 10mg is 10,000mcg.
However because the nature of all the stuff you are taking you should try one at a time of the new items. What is bothering you may not be the supplement core ingredient, but some other part of it.
What are your reactions to grains like (not gluten ones)?
How do you feel after intense exercise? Very intense, like running faster than 8 min miles, or doing sprints?
What things didn't show on IgX testing that you have allergic reactions too (not skin though)?
Your reactions are interesting to me because Secreter Explorers of Type A blood don't usually have reactive systems. They have receptive (like anything else is very unusual). My brother is one, and instead of having quick allergic reactions his esophagus was going to harden and close up based on foods.
What are your biggest problems with health? You know they sound like insulin issues, cardiovascular, and mild microbial (infections).
You actually sound a lot like me in many respects.
The pain in my face is only a fraction of what it was yesterday, thank goodness. It's still tender beside my eye where those two veins come down and on the bone area under my eye, but so much better. I gave in and took an Advil before bed to help reduce the pain and swelling. Victoria - the DMAE was in the biotin product I got for my nails and shedding hair. It said "superior bioavailability" with a 100% guarantee of better results in 90 days for problems involving hair and nails. It listed 3500 mcg of biotin, 205 mg of MSM, 50 mg of DMAE Bitartrate, and 40 mg of horsetail, as well as some things I had taken before with no problem. Since I do battle high blood pressure, which I usually have under control, maybe the DMAE raised my pressure, causing those veins to swell. Possum - Maybe the higher dose of the biotin than I was used to did cause oxalate dumping in my system, which caused the problem of pain and swollen veins. ABJoe - yes, usually I introduce only one thing at a time. This biotin product contained so many "new" things that I don't know what caused the problem. I guess I should have just bought a plain biotin supplement and started slowly. At least this one has a money back guarantee. I'm afraid to take it again. DoS - OK, here goes in a nutshell: I don't eat eggs at all, not even in mayo, because my IgG blood tests (taken a year apart) said eggs and gluten were really high as avoids. They also tested positive on skin tests. Also as soon as I eat eggs or gluten my pulse goes up almost immediately to 125 and 110 respectively and I get the sinus headaches and phlegm right away. Other grains also quickly affect my sinuses and digestion, even rice, though they didn't show up on any tests. I don't do extreme exercises any more because of my heart. I used to beat everyone racing, even though I am only 5 feet tall with short legs. I do walk on my treadmill every day and use my stationary bike. My big health problems are my heart (enlarged, leaky valve, left ventricle not pumping right), high cholesterol, too rapid heart beat, chemical sensitivity, certain inhalants, pre-diabetic, and what in the world to eat that doesn't have gluten, dairy, eggs, or sunflower, anything on my IgG avoid list of fruits and vegies, or any of the Swami avoids. I keep exploring with alternative grains to no avail. Some of my IgG moderate avoids, like blueberries, I can rotate every 4 days in small amounts. I'm trying fish, which I hate. The smell of fish and meats cooking make me nauseated. I either have too much stomach acid or a valve that lets acid back up ...had ulcers twice, years ago. BTW I didn't have any trouble with my heart until a bad case of virus or flu that left me bedridden for two weeks. I guess I covered the high points.
I'm worried some things you avoid are actually part of a healing crisis.
You can be anyone and anything and be allergic to anything. From your other posts I've read it sounds like stress has been more of a problem for you than chemical sensitivity etc. You are dealing with more cardiovascular and metabolism problems than anything else. I can relate because I'm on a protocol specifically for metabolism but not just in the vain of glucose, but everything.
How do you respond to stress relieving exercises such as meditation, yoga, etc? (I listen to music on a stereo I made for my grandfather)
On your SWAMIX if you set it to Glycation removal, try some of the GenoHarmonic recommendations throughout the day with the things you can handle.
Might be a good idea to stop all the supplements and add them back one at a time to see when your face reacts. I get a left sided migraine..that starts at my left side of my neck and comes up the side of my head over the left eye. I first got this type of migraine when I was taking L-Cysteine. I didn't realize it was caused by that because I was taking it for 3 years with no trouble and all of a sudden I was getting the migraine every day. When I forgot to take the L-cysteine one day, I didn't have a headache the next day and then it hit me what was causing the headaches. I get these 2 day long migraines from supplements I can't tolerate. I think your reaction is from one of the supplements you were taking.
Like Joyce I wondered about Polymyalgia and Temporal Arteritis.
Some years ago when I did food testing found I had a lot of similar food sensitivites to what you list, still avoid Gluten/Dairy/Yeast but reintroduced eggs.
On the veins, a Doctor gave me Dhea and a vein or two swelled up in my forehead. When I stopped taking them they went down. I mention this as Thyroid supplements and Dhea affect hormones and wondered if that could be a connection. But your pain on side of face/eye is much more extreme.
I used to get rapid heart beat and had few chemical sensitivities but both have dramatically improved. I also had high glucose for a while. Hang in there you will improve.
I didn't take the biotin supplement today that also contains the MSM and DMAE. Guess what... the swelling of those two veins above and beside my eye is gone and so it the pain. I called the company. They said everyone reacts differently but I could take the product back and get reimbursed.

Very glad you seem to have found out the problem causing item and that it is not temporal arteritis. I mentioned this as it can be an emergency, my mother lost her sight in one eye very suddenly.
