Pretty much all of us are intolerant to gluten...so those of us not absorbing vitamins for our health and skin, have to heal, but how do we get our vitamins and minerals while healing? Do we get ten times more the vitamins than someone with an undamaged gut lining? Or do we just have to wait? How do we get these vitamins that we are lacking and not absorbing no-matter our diet regime?

Wow! That's such a long time!!! I am going to just get extra extra of the vitamins and minerals I seem to be lacking (with carrot juice), because since it isn't getting absorbed normally, at-least some will be absorbed! Some extra antioxidants (green tea), and water-kefir for probiotics will increase the healing

I found juicing and green smoothies to be very helpful. Liquid forms of vitamins and minerals are easier for me to absorb. Still waiting to find out what food allergies/sensitivities are giving me grief. I highly suspect dairy and eggs. Things are definitely on the upswing.

I wonder why eggs cause such reactions? I get dairy, and gluten, and other lectin damages, but why eggs? I'm going to stop eggs too.

Eggs are a highly allergenic food- meaning that many people are allergic to them. But they're still a good source of protein and are perfectly safe for those without allergies or sensitivities to eggs. The egg white is more likely to cause allergic problems than the yolk is.

If you had your own kitchen and could prepare all your own foods, I wouldn't worry about an egg-free trial. There are plenty of other foods you can prepare for yourself, and it's not too hard to make substitutions in baking. But since you're going to be living on campus this year, eating cafeteria food and only having limited space for food prep in your dorm room, I'm concerned about you limiting your diet too much.

Type Os need protein and plenty of it (balanced out with veggies of course.) Hard boiled eggs on a salad bar are often a "safe" choice when the other protein options are non-compliant (such as chunks of ham and/or cheese) or prepared in non-compliant ways (deli meats with additives, chicken cooked with breading, etc.)

Have you been diagnosed with celiac disease (CD)? Are you sure you're not absorbing vitamins properly? Yes, most gluten-containing grains are hard on the O digestion, but that's different from celiac disease. In CD, people's guts are badly damaged. In most of the population, even if absorption is "sub-par" we're still absorbing enough nutrition to function and to start healing once we've cut out the harmful foods.

However, telling the kitchen staff that you have CD or "gluten intolerance" might be a way to get "cleaner" foods in the cafeteria. You still need to watch out for corn and potatoes and random non-compliant veggies, but it will eliminate the possibility of wheat or wheat contamination.

You're like my mum! I love you ! I shall do y best to stay compliant in college, but I never knew of any dammages or lectins these foods caused until my skin started to show it. Eventhough my tummy doesn't have symptoms my skin does, so something is upsetting it! So, I will eat meet and cut out eggs for noww.

I was not suggesting anyone cut eggs. It is one to see if you are having a reaction. Coming off of a juice fast, I had a reaction to a Unibar and suspected it was the egg. Rash shortly after eating. I don't know this for certain, but was generally avoiding them until I get allergen test results back. Eggs are a wonderful food. With a leaky gut, possible many things came through and my body started attacking and kept the pattern which serves me no longer.
