pork, chicken, corn, and others of course
Quoted from WHAT MAKES A 'TYPE AB' AN INDIVIDUAL?
Dr. D’Adamo also recommends smaller, more frequent meals, as they will counteract digestive problems caused by inadequate stomach acid and peptic enzymes. “Your stomach initiates the digestive process with a combination of digestive secretions, and the muscular contractions that mix food with them. When you have low levels of digestive secretions, food tends to stay in the stomach longer.” Explains D’Adamo. He also suggests that Type AB pay attention to combining certain foods. For example, you’ll digest and metabolize foods more efficiently if you avoid eating starches and proteins in the same meal.

Thank you for the fast response. I'll pass it on to my sis.
I also remembered AB Cookbook - I had forgotten all about it but I still have the link from when Dr D introduced them.
Did I read that they will be coming out in hard copy? |

Don't forget that there are also additives in processed foods that can contribute to GI problems in any blood type. If the child is regularly consuming carrageenan in processed puddings, sauces, or beverages, that can also cause problems. |

I don't eat chicken and corn. And I stay away from those additives. I also stick to organic grass fed meats. For the most part. Although I don't do this with all the turkey I eat. I have found that beef (it's a neutral on my swami) makes me feel better when it is a grass fed source. And lamb is like medicine.
Fruit really helps my digestion. But not too much sugary fruit. |

Thank you JJR - I appreciate your sharing - I'll pass your insight on to my sis for her friend.
It sounds like you are really in tune with how your body reacts to food. Can you put into words how you feel dif when you eat grass fed as opposed reg meat?
Also have you noticed anything specific when you eat lamb? and how do you cook it? lamb & goat are my only red meats (both diamonds) - so I need to learn to cook it. |

Lamb is beneficial for me as an AB, and I have just been learning how to cook it. So far for me, I do two things: 1.) Leg of Lamb or Lamb shoulder roast in the crockpot (comes out great). 2.) There is a health food store near me that sells ground lamb, and even lamb hamburger patties. Very easy to cook, just grill them or cook in a skillet. |

thanks Chud -- I think Whole foods might have ground lamb. It does take a while to learn to think outside of the box (food wise). It's a whole new box. |

OMG. I have lived on chicken the last few months and was hospitlized for a severe groin pain caused by severe stenosis. Currently, I am in a physical rehab faciliy. I am an AB and I just found out about this way of eating this last Saturday. I have ordered the book and am looking forward to educating myself regarding BTD. I was on Atkins since May, hence the abundance of chicken in my diet as it was readily available. I did lose weight, dropping from 390 to 317 with a goal weight of 220. Now I am wondering if all that chicken could have affected my health as I always felt like I had no energy. Until I get to read the book I will at least cut out the chicken and eat more tuna in addition to salmon,, mussels, turkey and other acceptable foods. |

Welcome, whitescorpion! It is always great to see another AB... I posted above the foods that cause weight gain / loss and the most damaging lectins for AB... It is good to focus initially on replacing the most damaging foods with some of the most beneficial (or at least neutral)... The highest impact food for me was corn, followed closely by chicken. Start as you can and reap the benefits! Look forward to hearing about your progress! |

I agree with chud and everyone else about the chicken. Switching to turkey was the first serious adjustment I made, and it convinced me to go all in. Eliminating gums had a profound effect on my digestive issues (bloating and inflammation) that made me realize just how sick I'd become. And adding the bennies got the health motor running strong.
Purlgirl, as far as a 10 year old with digestive problems, it could be quite different from our adult experiences. Are you asking here because he hasn't responded to treatment? |
