Last night while shopping at Sam's Club with my dh we were walking by a stand where 2 young men were giving out samples of "PB Crave" peanut butter. As we approached the table I was razzing my O husband how these samples were only for me. They heard what I said and wondered why? We briefly explained the blood type factor and both men seem very intrigued. Of course, at the time, I figured it was more curiosity than anything else. They then went into how a certain percentage of a purchase of "PB Crave" would go towards a charity that feeds starving children in Africa. The project is called Project Peanut Butter and they briefly explained the mission of this organization. I decided to purchase a set of three, although I have to say there are a few non-compliants in it.
After I agreed to purchase a few, one man said he is a type AB- and donates his blood as frequently as the blood bank allows because it's such a rare blood type and very few people donate blood anyway. I'm not sure if I've ever met anyone with AB- blood. His buddy with him is a type O and they both really started pumping my dh and I about the connection between blood type and diet. I really wanted to pull out a business card or something to give them, but since I had nothing like that I said they could google blood type diets or genotype diets and they would find the name Dr. Peter D'adamo. I also recommended they consider buying the Genotype Diet book as it is more specific and more up to date in research.
I doubt it, but I wonder if anyone has heard of Project Peanut Butter? Also, for the type AB's that post frequently on these forums, are any of you RH- ? I see the secretor symbols on your avatars more frequently than the RH symbols. If 2-5% of the population is AB and only 15% of the population is RH-, than I've got to assume that only a fraction of a percentage is AB-.
Also, do any of you AB's donate blood?

Yes, I'm Rh(-) and Yes, I donate blood somewhat regularly...
The Red Cross calls me to remind me that it is time, if I forget for long... Of course, they are happy to get as much blood as possible, since it seems that there is a chronic shortage of most types...
They generally include milk powder in the peanut butter they distribute, which I am not so enthused with. But they are certainly doing more to combat malnutrition than I am.
