Recently I saw a blog with an AB body builder he was doing very well. You may be more of a B then an A. Which makes your exercise tolerance better. Might want to take a look at the Genotype diet and see if it works better for you. Welcome |

Per Typebase: Nonfat cows milk - http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?493I don't know that there is any rating for lactose-free milk, so I'd use the rating for the "regular" milk of the fat content in the milk you purchase... |

Your meal plan looks extremely similar to mine, so I would say you're on the right track. My intake percentages is something like 50% Vegetables, 20% Grain/Fruit/Dairy & 30% Meat (Only Turkey or Fish).
I've noticed I run like a race horse when my vegetable intake is 50% or higher. Plus I should note that I only eat foods from the "High" section of the book, unless I have no other choice (ex. restaurants). When people ask "Why don't you eat beef or chicken?", I just tell them I'm a Pescetarian (with an undisclosed addition of Turkey).
Since you're AB perhaps you should also consider fasting once a year. I've done extreme ( 40 days of water) fasting to moderate fasting (14-21 days water or 1-40 days juice) to light fasting (3 days water or 10 days juice). The benefits are mind blowing! I've been doing them for years. |

Sounds interesting, I've always been intrigued by fasting but I've never tried it because I love to eat. Can you expand on the benefits? And frequency (you said once a year)? Thanks. |

I stumbled upon this thread looking for fellow ABs. I'd be happy to offer some observations, but I truly have more questions than answers. Any ABs out there know of an AB specific forum?
I'm also coming at this from the opposite direction. Very quickly:
I was strong and healthy in youth, but declined rapidly in my late 40s and 50s. BTD reversed everything, and in my opinion, saved my life. I suspect ABs are particularly susceptible to decline given the "modern" diet of unnatural but common foods.
A young bodybuilder would most certainly benefit by taking advantage of dietary choices that are specifically oriented towards their natural, evolutionary constitution. I believe BTD is at the pinnicle of nutrition science, and though it will take a while, will become the norm for health enthusiasts. I'm certain of this because of the profound change I've experienced with weight loss and medical issues. I'm fond of saying "health food was killing me" because, as a long time advocate of healthy food choices, these foods were still very, very wrong for me. To naysayers, my response has been this: "I've lost 45 lbs in 18 months without altering fat and calorie intake, exercise habits, or taking drugs. My blood pressure, cholesteral, and glucose is normal for the first time since middle age began taking it's toll."
My advice to you is that you not overestimate the seeming perminence of youthful vigor, and to not underestimate the damage that avoid foods do to your body over time. Especially the insidious, ever-present nasties like chicken (added to everything for that savory rich flavor), potato, corn, and gums (stabilizers), and sugar (poison).
Good luck to you. Expect amazing results. |

No, I don't know of an AB specific forum, but will be happy to answer what questions I can if you ask them here. |

Dr. D'Adamo has stated that AB's shouldn't skip meals due to stress from not eating. |

There is not a forum, but there is the thread I mentioned above, and some other threads like this one.
Same story as me, I agree 100%. I think older AB's are very susceptible to decline due to avoids (especially chicken) which can have very negative effects that we really feel due to the stress it causes.
A young bodybuilder would most certainly benefit by taking advantage of dietary choices that are specifically oriented towards their natural, evolutionary constitution. I believe BTD is at the pinnacle of nutrition science, and though it will take a while, will become the norm for health enthusiasts. I'm certain of this because of the profound change I've experienced with weight loss and medical issues. Inspiring story, and I agree with you about BTD being the pinnacle of nutrition science.
Again I agree (especially with regards to chicken). I'm confused about including potatoes in that list though, I do pretty well with them and I didn't think they were an avoid. |

I can eat potatoes fine as long as there isn't some avoid oil or table salt used in the preparation... I don't eat them often, as I focus on beneficial foods as much as possible so prefer sweet potato and onion for high carb veggies. |

My Swami has them as an avoid, black dot, and I feel bloated if I eat them. At this point I'm very aware when something bloats me even just a little, and It takes a few days to feel healthy again.
Swami is so individualized. I would really recommend it to anyone on the fence, or not wanting to spend the money. Things will change a little from BTD or GT, but all for the better. I lost most of my excess weight on BTD, but started feeling really healthy with Swami.
Thank you all for the input! |
