I'm sure this topic has been discussed before ? And also, has Dr D mentioned it anywhere ? Can the diet help heal a leaky gut ? Has anyone had success with this with proven results ? |

I just did a search and there are numerous links to threads on the forum. It seems that the subject has been addressed at least as much as any other that I can think of right now! It certainly deserves the attention it has gotten! |

Absolutely. I suffered with it for awhile due to getting food poisoning so many times and abusing my body with fast food and the wrong types of food. The GenoType diet healed my gut but a probiotic called Culturelle coupled with eating lots of garlic every day also seemed to do the trick. I also eat mainly all my superfoods on the GenoType diet. Of course, I've also gotten food poisoning twice more since being on the diet (don't ask)...that's just my luck though and seriously bad luck. But these three things get me back to normal personally. I initially tried The Body Ecology Diet which got rid of my sinus headaches but left me constipated. The GenoType diet fixed that problem as well as my eczema (which was around my eyes). |

precisely following a targeted lectin free approach cures all in my personal book!!
did I mention I totally love Dr D s 'weltanschaung' and breakthrough!! haha
by targeted I mean first finding out secretor status and all personal variables of a person and applying accordingly |

No. The concentration of the ABH Antigens are much lower in saliva than in blood. You will not get reliable results using an Eldon card. |

Thanks Had done the measureing of torso (longer) and upper legs longer, when did the strength test all were yes for hunter and next highest was teacher. Lowest was gatherer (3pts. ) . Both index fingers longer. Do have trouble with fumes and perfumes (as a child skipped the detergent isle), though came in handy when smelled a gas leak in the street no one else could smell(at least the're repairing it now. Mostly want to heal digestion even better and intake nutrients more. Thanks for any help in defining genotype. or maybe better to stay on SCD diet that has been the best help so far. Perhaps you could combine the SCD and O diet with better results. The SCD diet has alot of foods allowed that make me worse. |

If you are an O, you can't be a Teacher....only Hunter, Gatherer or Explorer. |

Yes, couldnt do carrots for about 6 months on it. Is nice to be able to eat though. Just try to make notes what affected by. Such as started getting stiff joints last week and wondered if a new supplement or food had added. Then yesterday had alot of pain like had as child they called growing pains. So tried a digestive enzyme as had just started cheese again, and also heat on leg and wrist and small amount of B's (that used to work for my son when he got growing pains). wonder if from reduced circulation or from lower body temp. At least the're gone today. Though measured body temp as night sweats last night (90's outside during the day ) and was only 97.0. What cant you eat from SCD diet ? Thanks |

use only the advanced calculator in the book, knowing your blood type

I don't remember all that is on it but some cheeses are legal and don't work for me. Certain grains (or should I say starches), certain beans etc. I use my SWAMI IF i'm going to eat beans or cheese etc so at least I know they are the better of the two evils. I mostly meant that as an O there are foods that I should avoid that are on the SCD as legal. I thought since it is working for you, adding or subtracting your blood type foods would only enhance it. I certainly don't eat everything on my SWAMI but the things I do eat I know are good for me. I do avoid most avoids most often but sometimes I gotta have my guacamole! I do a very low carb version of my SWAMI and that works well.( so I still avoid most carby foods even though they may have some benefit for me, I don't want my blood sugar to go too high but just as important, I don't feel well on them) I eat mostly vegetables in abundance, moderate lean clean protein and healthy fats but when I do throw in beans, nuts etc, I know which to choose which is why I thought combining the two may work even better for you. Many of us use our SWAMI foods with a different 'principle'. |

After reading the advanced genotype calculator . The only choise it gave me was gatherer. Which I look furthest from, never had trouble loosing weight. There's no way I fit into it. Only the torso, leg and finger length match. Have sqr jaw, taster, very slender look, bow legged. Though if of interest can concentrate for long periods, and I do collect "stuff". I dont have SWAMI foods.
The SCD with the type O seems to limit quite abit, since most cheese is avoid, navy beans also, meats for both seem similiar, and some fruit (though used dates to grind with walnuts or almonds and dates seem avoid). What kind of foods do you eat? Thank you

Quoted Text
Dr D Gatherer did not necessarily mean that you were overweight, since although it is easy to conceive of the Gatherer as 'gathering' calories, it's the other stuff (like amyloid in the brain, or immune complexes in the pancreas) that you also want to not 'gather.
Run a swami, you ll be surprised at all the right choices you get! |

I dont want to pay money for a Swami, as when tried the blood type O diet before, it didnt seem helpful at all. Also reacted to some "beneficials". Most helpful has been SCD and juicing vegetables.
When reading genotype book, it saying can only be one genotype and then I dont seem to fit into what it calculates depending which one use. Will put my energy into just finding for my individual self what works well. (Coca pulse test also can help) Lynn D |
