You are probably going through a detox period... When I started, I had a week of feeling good, then the detox started... It cycled for a while, but constantly getting to higher highs and higher lows... I'm still healing, so still hurting, but making physically noticeable progress. |

I share your experience of getting to higher highs and higher lows.. My suggestion would be to drink a lot of water/fluids to help flush toxins out of your body. Make sure you're getting healthy fats/oils... if at all possible, use organic produce and try to find grass fed animal sources. IF you have a particular health challenge, sometimes it helps to take a few supplements and follow any one of these protocols. (I'd suggest only doing one at a time if you have multiple issues) http://www.dadamo.com/protocols/index.htm |

You may want to look into the genotype diet, although I tend to think you probably are suffering detox symptoms as mentioned previously. On my SWAMI genotype diet, I get no nightshade vegetables due to the joint problems I've had in the past as well as having a family history of it. Nightshade vegetables include potatoes, tomatoes, all peppers, eggplant, and other less common vegetables. The B blood-type non-secretor diet allows these vegetables except for potatoes. I find tomatoes especially hard to avoid since it's in many sauces and condiments including ketchup.
Yes, drinking lots of water is necessary for flushing toxins out quickly. Drinking green tea and ginger tea are highly beneficial for everybody and may feel soothing and comforting to you. I know it's hot right now pretty much everywhere, so I'd recommend making pitchers of iced tea with the above ingredients like we do several times a week.
Hang in there. I hope you feel better soon. |

Keep a food diary of what you eat and how you feel and bodily functions. It could be detox, it could be sensitivity to a certain food, or a combination of the two. We’re all different and that is why Swami is so great, it lets you individualize even more. |

Try to eat a good amount of protein during your detox period.
I would first assume it is detox symptoms but if it goes on for a long time then time to reconsider what you are eating and I agree with others about looking into your GenoType.
For me, detox symptoms only lasted a day or two - dull headache/fatigue/mucus draining. I was lucky though as it sounds like detox usually lasts longer for other people. |

If you're sure of your blood type and secretor status, then it's probably detox. I would suggest sticking with the current diet for at least a few more weeks before making any changes. It's fine to research GTD or SWAMI, but IMO you should stick with what you've been doing for a little bit longer before making any practical changes. The diet can be very complicated and confusing if you try to make too many changes at once.
2 weeks isn't a long time; it's likely that you're still detoxing from however many years of "eating wrong for your type." Getting plenty of water can help make the symptoms more managable, and Deflect may be a good supplement for you to take right now. |

Don't judge anything based on how you feel in particular. Unless it is like intolerable pain. The problem is detox symptoms can feel like joints and muscles feeling strange but they can potentially actually be freeing up after years of not being properly fed what they needed. Diarrhea can be flushing intestines clean, feeling like the flu or something can be a total body purge of imbalance with bacteria, sore ears can be cleaning out bad bacteria, etc etc.
That is one of the biggest powers of the BTD/GTD/SX/SP, knowing when the healing crisis is a good thing and not a bad thing. Having some confidence for at the end of the tunnel helps, I think.
Being a BT-B-N you can pretty much guarantee your body is purging a bacterial imbalance. The die off is not going to be comfortable. |

If it is in your list of beverages, then try organic 100% pure cherry juice for the joint pain. It contains glucosamine which helps in that regard. |

Assuming this is detox (as others have suggested) sweating is another good way to eliminate toxins from the body. You can exercise or use a sauna -- whatever your doctor recommends.
Make sure you don't consume anything that has ever caused an allergic reaction in you. The BTD does not know anything about your individual / unique allergy triggers.
Incidentally, if you have a certain medical condition you're trying to correct, you can check out the Health Protocols and the specific BTD for the condition.
Good luck! |
| My SWAMI diet is a blend of BTD and GTD Explorer, but I'm not totally compliant. Also I try to choose foods that have a Low Glycemic index. DW and DD are A+, probably also Explorer. |

Thanks for all the advice and comments. My symptoms have actually lifted and I am feeling much better. Two benefits have surfaced thus far. I was having a big problem with skin erruptions and intense itching around feet and lower legs. That is gone! Also, have had periodic bouts of candida (rectal itching) and that has not resurfaced either. Just ordered the GenoType book and will determine where I come out in that regard. Thanks again for the help |

Rectal itching can be caused by pinworms . Take a clove a garlic prick with a pin, dip it in honey insert it into the rectum at night--- in the morning expel it. Worms will be attracted to the honey and go into the clove this takes time. So you need to keep dong it. |

Now that is a whole other means to use garlic... most likely the best.. |
