I am usually pretty quick on picking things up. But until I can afford the Swami software I am going this by the book. There are times though that my health will not let me make my own wraps (which I stuff with salad fixings yum.) my local store has whole wheat wraps.. are they ok for type A? Its a bit confusing? |

According to the on-line Type4base: http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/typeindexer.htmWhole wheat would be a neutral for A secretor but an avoid for A non-secretor. Roughly 85% of A's are secretors. With processed wraps I think you should keep an eye open for trans-fats i.e. partially hydrogenated soy or corn oil. |

Looks like white flour products are also avoids for non-secretors. Secretors can get away with eating both kinds of wheat products. Same with corn meal - neutral for secretors/avoid for non-secretors. If there is access to a natural food store, spelt is neutral for both sec. and non-sec. |

Amaranth flour is beneficial for both secretors and non-secretors, it makes nice wraps (but I make them myself, I don't know if you can find them ready made). |

We have Spelt tortillas for sale in my local health food stores. It depends on how strict you are with your own diet. I don't buy anything that has avoid ingredients in it, even if the major ingredients are compliant. |

What about Ezekiel 4:9 Sprouted Grain Tortillas? Here's a link to the ingredient list: |

Very easy: - amaranth flour (if you find the taste too strong, mix 50/50 with another compliant flour) - water - olive oil - tapioca starch (don't know the US name, it's cassava starch, Type A neutral) - 1 egg - salt to taste Start with the flour in a bowl; for every cup add 1 tsp of starch and 1 tsp of oil. Add in the water, whisking all the time. Continue adding water and mixing until the mixture is smooth and quite thin/runny for a dough, you don't want your dough too thick. When you're satisfied, add the egg (which I add mainly for the taste) and salt, if you want. Heat a griddle or frying pan (it needs to be very hot); put in a little dough, let it brown on one side then flip over, let brown on the other side, and put on a plate to keep warm while making more. Since you want thin wraps, don't put too much dough in the pan; the whole grilling process takes me about 1min per wrap. When cooled, they keep in the fridge. |

Even though whole wheat has been on my beneficial list for some time (on various forms of the diet), I really don't do well on any "processed" wheat products...meaning, whole wheat berries, say sprouted (by me) or cooked (by me) like rice is okay, but processed by "others" causes cravings (in my case for sugar or more processed wheat...I literally can eat a whole loaf of sourdough bread in one sitting). Just some food for thought. |

http://www.dadamo.com/typebase4/depictor5.pl?415Tapioca is a neutral for A's like me, see link above. In general I do quite well on grains, I don't have problems with wheat and I tolerate most grains and derived products fairly well. My red neon light "avoids" are tomatoes, potatoe and any meat. |

You can make wraps ahead and place in covered container in frig, if properly sealed, I would assume they would last 5-7 days. |

I agree with Lola about the lettuce wraps. They make the best wraps in my opinion and so healthy. I use kale leaves for mine. You might be surprised and not even miss the wheat ones. |

Hi, about the wrap. Make me think about my favorite “ Mieng Kham” or” Miang Kham” It is a leaf wrapped snack. Let have party for all of us!! This recipe requires a great deal of preparation time, but it's well worth it--especially if you've eaten a tasty Miang kham before and have a craving. There's nothing like it. The blend of coconut, raw ginger, fresh bettel leaves, peanut, raw lime or lemon, raw onion and chile is a fantastic flavor. ( for me Type A, no need coconut, dried shrimp and chile. Oh for the sauce I use Organic molasses or honey with lemon juice and miso Eden mix together. Also, I use rice wraps or lettuce leaves if I can’t find the original leaves. Also, I add fresh garlic for my bite. http://www.kolarsky.com/family/cooking/mieng_kham.htmhttp://www.realthairecipes.com/recipes/leaf-wrapped-snack/http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Miang_khamhttp://chinadoll-bakingdairy.blogspot.com/2010/09/mieng-kham.html |
