I miss my bowl of oatmeal! I just assumed I was a non secretor, because I suspected the soy yogurt I was eating broke me out, and soy is an avoid for non-secretors. I'm never really sick, but have skin issues, like keratosis pilaris, and some acne, which has been really great since on the BTD. I like breakfast food, and am so sick of eggs, and protein for breakfast. And eating a salad in the morning doesn't cut it. And a smoothie is too un-solid. I'm too poor right now, to afford the secretor thing, but it still freaks me out that soy breaks me out, and I really don't want to test it and ruin my skin, by eating some soy. Plus, most soy sauce has wheat in it. |

Then don't eat soy silly girl! Soy is only neutral for secretors anyway, it's not like it's super good for you or something! Breakfast? I don't know, surely there will be some type Os come along soon to give you some pointers |

I have a real problem with breakfast, also, because I am allergic to soy, milk, stuff you put in smoothies (bananas, etc), gluten, grains (even oatmeal), eggs, etc. I would love to have some of that stuff for breakfast. I tried hemp seeds again yesterday in a smoothie with blueberries and got a terrible headache. And like you said, salads for breakfast "don't cut it". So I nibble on stuff like apples with peanut butter and rice crackers. Not very filling. Blah! Good luck. |

I have just eaten the following and it lasts me a long time - don't think there are any O-avoids in it.
Baby rice which is wholegrain easy mix powder. Ground almonds Dandelion leaf and barley leaf powders Bit of live plain yoghurt Lemon flesh and juice Pink salt mixed with warm water plus a dollop of maple syrup
I love porridge made with oats, but sometimes they seem to irritate my gut.... the above is very gentle and if necessary I add a bit of slippery elm to the mix. |

I am non-secretor and oatmeal is a bennie on my Swami. DH is an O secretor, and oatmeal is a neutral for him. So what is the problem? Why can't you have oatmeal? |

Can you have rice? I eat rice like oatmeal. With nuts and cinnamon and honey. Not for breakfast for me. But it's my dessert after dinner. But rice is soooooo good this way. |

You could avoid soy but continue to eat oatmeal for now.
You can eat rice cereal or quinoa cereal (or cereal made from any acceptable grain) in place of the oats. Any cooked grain, made with a little extra water, put through a blender turns into cereal. Then you can add molasses and/or ground nuts or whatever else you want. |
