I stopped taking vitamin e supplement because Dr D does not recommend. However, my was much better before and even my skin looks better when I was using it.
I feel like the vitamin kept my blood circulating and moving? Does this make sense or no?

Vitamin E does have blood thinning potential. I've read that vitamin E may reduce the risk of blood clots in women, and that supplementation with vitamin E may reduce the risk of venous thromboembolism in women. Those genetically predisposed or with a prior history may particularly benefit. There also exists the possibility of a slight increase in hemorrhagic stroke potential, though. Even though I mostly trust the source from which I read this information, take all of it with a grain of salt and check with a better source than me if you want to confirm this. |

In general, Os have thin blood and don't need any help "keeping it flowing and moving." However, we are all individuals. It's possible that you personally would benefit from vitamin E supplementation, even if it's not reccomended for O's "in general." |

I haven't taken E for a long time, but I'm thinking of starting again. I have terrible varicose veins, getting worse. My 23 and Me report says I am more than 44% more likely to have blood clots in my legs than others with my genetic background. I believe it, looking at my legs. I'm also thinking of going back on garlic supplements to help thin my blood. A's have thicker blood, anyway, according to Dr.D. It used to be that only one form of E was recommended, but now it is a combination of the forms. Also, more than 400 IU a day can be dangerous. I'll go with 200 mixed. |

DL, Do you drink lemon water first thing each morning? I swear it really helps thin the blood and aids in reduced mucus. I had varicose veins, exactly like my (slender) O- explorer dad ( Mom is A+) and went to an excellent physician in Orange county specializing in v v treatment. I still have slight discoloring but the bumps and bulges are gone! I also believe there are ingredients in the NAP products I take that help with circulation and vein health. (Right 4 your blood type, for A..polyvite, polyflora, proberry, harmonia, quercetin, collinsonia, genoma derm, cortiguard and helix) The vein doctor also emphasized walking and I do that almost daily along with alternate days of yoga and gym workouts. |

Were you able to shrink your v v without surgery? |

Cajun - same question as Victoria asked. "Were you able to shrink your varicose veins without surgery" or did the lemon water and NAP do it for you? I walk several times each day on my treadmill, but that isn't helping my veins. |

I too have VV. Once the valves inside the veins are shot, there isn't anything to rebuild them as far as I know. Making sure your legs get a good workout helps tremendously, one of the ways blood moves back to the heart is through the help of the muscles in your legs, they need to be in good shape for good blood flow. Elevating you legs above your heart when you can also helps. I don't take vitamin e anymore, but I make sure the foods I eat have plenty. By following my swami, I don't even have to think about it much |
