Just curious if others have noticed a weight loss when eating red meat even if they are already fit and healthy?

I am eating more of it lately, and starting to notice a shift in my body composition.... flatter stomach.

I would expect that your body will approach "ideal" once you get the right foods in the right proportions...

That sounds ideal and all, however, I have been this diet for about 5 years and I still struggle with only feeling satisfied with red meat-

Thank you-- I know our bodies change and I just need to listen to what it is telling me. I workout alot more now

I had been a vegetarian and didn't eat any meat or poultry for almost 23 years. When I learnt and accepted BTD, I accepted that eating red meat is a decree of Nature. This is how I came to the world, as an O, and all the rest are lessons for me to learn.

I too had been a vegetarian/vegan/(even macrobiotic for a while) for about 25 years...I still struggle with the idea of eating meat although deep down I know it is right for me...I remember when I was pregnant  many years ago( & vegetarian!) I actually salivated walking past the butchers shop...and I just had to have beef stew like my mother used to make, it was sooo delicious..

But it is only in the last few years I went back to eating fish initially, then turkey...and lo! my darlng husband made me a most wonderful lean beef burger with onions, basil and peppers at the weekend and cooked it on the barbeque I am still feeling the wonderful sense of being totally satisfied...so I intend to eat beef more often...and hoping like you Marjorie it will  help flatten my stomach

I think he was basically agreeing with the notion of you losing weight with red meat.  Since you are an O.  And I imagine Joe knows that you O's get to have a good amount of red meat.  So I think he was saying, "Yeah, you're doing good wit red meat, because you're an O."  That's what I was thinking.  And Joe knows a lot about the different blood types.  I'm not trying to put words in his mouth though.  That's just how I read it.  It seemed like you took it like he was saying you were doing something wrong.  I read it the opposite.

Anytime you are short nutrients, you have to make them up by eating what you need plus some for restocking.  You will never feel as satisfied with other foods until the shortage is made up.  This is one way our body has to tell us to eat what we need.  If your body keeps saying eat more red meat, then it is a good thing for you to provide it...  This is part of what I said "in the right proportions".  Once you get it right for your body, the ideal happens.  Each of us is unique in our history, both what was done right and what caused us damage, as well as genetics...

Definitely with beef and lamb; also do equally well, if not somewhat better, with grass-fed bison. As often as possible, I'm including venison and lamb sweetbreads and am finding that I also respond very well to them.

Although 'squirrel' is one of my red meat superfoods, don't plan to dine at the Roadkill Cafe anytime soon.

Red meat seems to satisfy me more so I don't seem to want or need to snack as much.

Oh, ok... got it! I understand what you were getting at with the right proportions... and instead of comparing myself to the past and how I "was", I am going to look at who I am now and what I need now. Staying in the present moment. Obviously, my body is saying you need more than before, so I going with it.

However, sometimes I get nervous that I am overeating compared to what I was doing before, but then I shake it off and realize I will not get fat if I eat the right foods

Thank you!

YES! Sometimes the rotation of the superfood red meats I have, plus a "surprise superfood starch:" will trigger a pound of weight loss the very next day!

I love my GOAT.I'ts slimming for me and my liver.

Squirrel season is every January.
But I can't eat em, and they're my best friends when I feed 'em peanuts.
They must be blood type A also!!

I just made some veggie stew and prepared ground turkey for DH and DD to add in, and sliced steak for DS and myself. We had been eating way too much poultry because of DH and DD, and I hadn't realized I could have it both ways Feel really good

I love it when a plan comes together!

Yeah, I make different proteins at one meal at our family sometimes too.  Not all the time, but sometimes.  Actually, many times.  I have a B daughter and an A wife and son.  And I'm an AB, so......  Sometimes I'm eating fish while the A's are eating chicken and the B is having some eggs.  hehehhehehe

I gained 5 lbs of muscle after I added meat back in.  Have been eating regularly about 6 years & am a different person than I was when I was younger- more balanced, happier, stable etc.
