If you're following BTD, then apple cider vinegar is fine for O secretors. It's an avoid for O nonnies.
If you're following GTD, it's an avoid for Hunters.
If you have SWAMI, follow the value it gives you on all foods, regardless of what any of the "book diets" say. |

Acceptance was my first step toward admitting I'm a typeaholic. <; |

I'm on the fence about the vinegar, just don't think my salads taste the same without it. |

Many substitutes won't taste "the same", because they aren't... Having a healthy life is all about getting used to the things that are good for you and accepting that those not so good are now relegated to very infrequently eaten... |

Sahara, you need to decide for yourself how compliant you're willing to be. I'm not talking about being careless with your health; I'm talking about making a conscious decision about one or two specific foods that SWAMI says "no" to but you find don't hurt you AND you feel deprived without. A good example is Peppermint Twist and her yogurt. It's officially an avoid for her on SWAMI, BTD, and GTD, but it's a specific food that doesn't negatively affect her and that REALLY enhances her enjoyment of her diet.
Perhaps vinegar in general, or apple cider vinegar in particular, will be a similar food for you. What you should probably do is completely avoid it for a few months, then re-introduce it (making no other dietary changes at the same time) and see how your body reacts. Also see how your taste buds react- it may not be quite as wonderful as you're remembering once you've gotten into the habit of citrus juice based dressings.
Only by avoiding it then re-introducing it can you truly evaluate how it reacts in your own personal body, and how much your life would be improved by including it. |
