Has anyone tried using an ozone generator to clean fruit and veg. the one with a little diffuser at the end that you pop into water and ozonate it.

they appaer to remove pesticides and hormones from a lot of things even meat.

I use ozone to sterilise the air in our house in a couple of rooms. but was thinking of going a step further. in fact I think I'll start a new thread or check for old ones on this subject.

If you are getting enough ozone concentration to sterilize, you probably need to be evacuate the home to prevent respiratory damage.

Thanks sharpy I was aware of the issue re that, but seem to get no problem, while machines are on low. none in bedrooms. also machines are placed by doors and run for about a minute every ten mins or something like that on low.

I did have a friend become uncomfortable using a machine I loaned him. but he had turned it to high inadvertently -

I got them to fight mould and formaldehyde which works well. they also work well to keep sprouted seeds and soaked stuff mould free.

I learn that soak the vegetable or fruit (if not organic) with water and Baking soda (water just about 5 litter, 1 table spoon of baking soda mix together) it will help take off the pesticide about 50%

For me, most buy organic and lightly steaming the greens suchas Broccoli, Cauliflower, swiss chad, maybe about 2- 3 minutes, before blending. Only raw spinach, cilandtro and use celery and carrot juice.
