I guess this is a one size fits all list, but even so...no wonder I seem to be so intolerant??!! Of all these FOOD sources of digestive enzymes, I can ONLY eat romaine lettuce (& not sure so still testing rice)

Several questions come to mind:
1) Can you take an enzyme supplement to take so you can start the digestion process which will allow healing to start, so you can reduce the uptake of undigested particles (leaky gut) that are likely to be responsible for your very heightened sensitivity?

2) Do you take any probiotic or cultured vegetables, hopefully, type specific?

3) Is your liver / gall bladder working well?

Cheers... I have taken enzymes before, so probably would be a good idea Maybe that was exactly why I was less reactive previously as well... Still trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together

I think I may have to do some sort of a cleanse...I don't typically get a lot of indigestion, but I do notice I get a pain in my left shoulder (at times) which apparently can be a signal that there is a problem with the stomach or other abdominal structures - one being the pancreas?! The body talk session I had done ages ago indicated pancreas, thyroid & one other problem, as areas of concern...

That is terrible Possum!! I eat piles of this stuff every day. Thanks for posting this list. I love the info found on the WF web site! Some people practically live on enzymes from a bottle.

It helped me tremendously when I added enzymes to my intake.  I was trying all sorts of things to improve digestion, but I needed to start there...  I sincerely hope it helps you get on track!

I know well that hypersensitivity to many environmental odors can be a real restriction of freedom.

Just passing on some of what has helped me - hoping that some of it helps others...  We weren't born with an owner's manual for our body...

I know great it is to get information that moves the body into healing mode...  
Healing can take tremendous amounts of time as well, but at least there is hope once you can see it starting.

I just took one earlier with lunch (I forget I had some I had been taking) & even my BM was better after lunch & my meal wasn't all that compliant - just rice cakes & butter

Umeboshi?  They have many health benefits, not least antibiotic action.  How long did you keep them in salt?  A friend of us from Japan had some going for many months ... a year ... then it will reconstitute them again in brine ... and serve the juicy fermented plumb plums with rice, just plain rice .... Very nourishing ...

A question I would like to ask those folks about rice. How are we going to eat rice raw to preserve the enzyme? Maybe they think we should make flour out of it and put it in our smoothies???

Thanks for posting! Digestive enzymes have been truly beneficial for me. Fresh papaya juice has rocked my world. Norman Walker (raw and juice guy) points to papaya as being super healing for all sorts of things. I believe it has really helped my adrenals.

My understanding is that you will still get the enzymes in brown rice if it is cooked.  To a degree.  Some foods become better for you after cooking.  I don't totally agree with the all raw thing.  I don't have any sources for you at the moment, but I know I've read this somewhere.  Some foods being cooked actually become more digestible and have more available nutrients than if raw.  I ate undercooked brown rice once and it made me feel awful for a day and a half.  I don't think it was the way it was meant to be eaten.  Although, I am sensitive.   But regardless, I remember my doctor saying that eating brown rice will enhance the good gut flora.  I didn't understand how, but I trust him.  He seems to know a lot about food.  And in my experience, after I eat brown rice or brown basmati, my bowels seem to really get moving.  I had made brown basmati for the first time in a while last week and the next day I moved my bowels 3 times.  It wasn't bad movements either.  Just a good cleaning out.  I usually go once a day.  It could have been a coincidence, but I have noticed it with long grain brown in the past too.  Not so much with white basmati or short grain brown though.  Thus I rely on the fruits and veggies to keep things moving typically.


Possum, I can't believe you can't eat any of those!!!  Wow.  I know that if I don't eat a lot of those foods on a regular basis, I get stopped up.  I used to take digestive enzymes also.  But at this point I do well by sticking with the right combination of foods in a days time.  At least you can have romaine.  I eat a salad with romaine almost every day and I KNOW it help keeps me regular.

I use the BTD protein powder which has rice protein in it. But I really wonder about it having any enzymes in it.
